Hmm? So now T-Wolves have the 5th, 6th, 18th and 28th in Rd1 and 15 & 17 in Rd2 ...6 picks!

Maybe they help Memphis not have to pass on Rubio and get rid of a pick or two. Like trading first rounders 5, 6, 18 (+2nd Rd #15 & #17) for Memphis' #2, #27 and 2nd Rd #6

...I won't even do the math to see if that could be called fair

--- I read it the other way, initial reaction. Miller decided he didn't care to shoot last year, Foye is the guy they traded Brandon Roy for. I didn't know he had shown much but i don't pay a lot of attention to the Wolves. They also took Songalia, Thomas and the man with no vowels Etoian Shrdlu or whatever his name is, big guy.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a failure by the Phoenix FO? If the Wiz were willing to trade that pick for so little, why didn't we trade Richardson for the pick and filler? He's better than Miller, and Foye might have more upside, but the Wiz seem more interested in winning now. I can't imagine that Kerr thinks he would rather keep JRich than have a shot at Curry/Harden or something...

heres what i think what would be good

Suns trade
J-Rich

Suns Get
Earl Watson
Chuck Atkins
#3

why for okc you get the 2 guard u need and it makes the suns a worse team for next year there for making their pick(that was ours) more valuable

JRich is NOT better than Miller and Foye, I don't even think JRich is better than Miller alone but that's debatable
and Miller is an expiring contract

so in short Miller+Foye is a much better deal for Washington
No GM in their right mind would take JRich over Miller+Foye

this is not NBA Live, you can't just throw in a player you don't want and expect another team just take him

i like azballer's trade. we could use the #3 to get rubio as future pg or a sg to replace jrich and use our #14 to draft clark as sf

KD is way more of a 3 than a 2

Russ
J-Rich
KD
Jeff
Collison
thats solid and our pick that they have would go up in value

Wiz destroyed in this trade... Foye was a lottery pick and proved what he could do, and Miller is very good at what he's brought in to do. Holy craperoli, Wiz look good on paper now..

Arenas/Crittenton
Foye/Young/Stevenson
Butler/Miller/Stevenson
Jamison/Blatche
Haywood/McGee

God damn :O

Pretty terrible defensive back court though, they're only defender is Stevenson, and he's there 5th wing.. But that team can score from any and every position, even off the bench. WOW.

The Thunder laugh you off the phone with that offer. No way J-Rich has enough value to get the #3 pick.

I think it works out for both sides. Twolves save money, get a chance at a drafting an all-star level player. Wizards get a pure shooter and scoring point guard. I will say that usually the team that trades their lotto pick usually gets bit in the ass later on.

---Oh yeah. This is like the draft nights where you sit and wait and then they announce ... Phoenix has sold the pick.
But it's pick your poison really - Kerr makes a deal, we get screwed. He sits pat, we're hooped.

hmmmm trade checker says trade doesn't work?

Etan Thomas from Washington

Thomas is in the last non-exercisable year of his contract and cannot be traded. However, next season is currently an early termination option and if is not exercised, then the player can be traded.

^ interesting . . .

This trade is great for both teams. Miller and Foye would help take the Wiz closer to the top of the EC.

-- That's interesting. has the league ok'd it yet?

---- edit: it's official

Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has acquired guard/forward Mike Miller and guard Randy Foye from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila, Oleksiy Pecherov and the fifth overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft. “We are very excited to welcome two solid, proven veterans in Mike Miller and Randy Foye to Washington,” said Grunfeld. “Mike is one of the NBA's elite three-point shooters who can really stretch the defense and provide an all-around game, and Randy has shown the ability to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates while providing excellent perimeter defense. Their skills complement our core very well and they will provide a boost as we re-establish ourselves as a contender in the Eastern Conference."
