What's wrong with NY deal?? I mean, Chandler is 87 born.. he could easily be in this draft.. and he is already a pretty nice scorer and a very complete player. If u add a Lee(another terrific player), I don't see how this is a bad deal.. especially considering u get the fifth for Foye, who is not a phenom at all

Chandler is so-so. Lee is solid, but doesn't fit here at all. He isn't better than Jefferson or Love, and will cost a ton. This is what's wrong with the NY deal. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you aren't trolling.

Kahn believes Rubio is a transformational -- once in a generation -- type of player. Chandler is a role player with limited upside. He would be a nice complimentary piece for a team looking for such players, but for a team looking to get out of the western conference cellar he adds little, especially when you consider Brewer and Gomes have similar abilities. Lee plays the same position as our two best players. Why would we want to commit another $10M/year to the same position? Kahn said the only thing we won't do is draft a PF. So why would he trade his favorite player in the draft for one and then give up our future cap space to pay him?

Magnus, the Foye for 5 deal has nothing to do with the value of Rubio.

Giving the situation(he doesn't want to come), the value of ricky is even lower.. minny is not in a strong position, especially because the young kid put some limitations to the places he wants to go.

This is soo far from the truth. Nothing has changed since before the draft.

Kahn, if anything, is a master negotiator. Right now he is playing it cool and keeping positive, and really he couldn't be handling this any better.

First I don't think he can, but this is not the main problem.. We are talking about 2 playmakers.. ball dominant player.. none of them play off the ball, none of them can shoot well. . it is just not ideal situation.

Well, Kahn must try to sell him high. I personally think he is a once in a generation player,and for that reason I'd never have drafted Flynn as well. He could draft Derozan, even Curry is better fit since he is half SG. . Kahn just screwed it by drafting Flynn.. now he has a big problem to solve. Maybe he could draft Flynn,but who knows.

if he had really wanted NY from the beginning he
a. would have actually worked out for them
b. started the rubio-to-ny talk alot earlier (like post lotto).

and chandler's stats are inflated for d'antoni-ball, just like marion's were.
miller+foye was a superior deal, plus we took songalia, which you were not willing to under the lebron cap room law.

no way we take pennies on the dollar for rubio, we are in no hurry to win now.

Well Curry didn't want to be here either. If we took him instead of Rubio my guess is we'd be hearing the same conjecture today, but with Curry going to the Knicks instead. Flynn, on the other hand, apparently loves MN. Flynn also has great potential defending the PG position while Curry is going to be a liability defending 1's or 2's, so at least an argument can be made that defensively we are better off with Flynn and Rubio.
