This is an extremely shortsighted and risky attitude for the team to take. Sessions at the full MLE would be very good value and ant tax concerns could easily be offset by moving Lou or he sometime before next year if needed. He is a much better starting PG this tear and going forward if Holiday does not develop (I liked the pick, but there are no guarantees with him) at all or at least on their schedule for him.
If Holiday does develop, Sessions could move into the combo/third guard role that Lou has had and put up better numbers than Lou, he is simply a better player who can be had for about the same price.
Having Sessions in hand would also make it easier to go after a S&T for a big name FA next year by freeing he or Lou to be packaged with Speights and some expirings. Again, there attitude is very shortsighted, if both Lou and Jrue fail at the point, a realistic possibility, they will be paying top dollar for one down the road. They should take advantage of a depressed market this year and scoop up some good young talent in the process.
