[quote] "He was an Isolation PG, on a team that was strictly isolation it had less ball movement then the Allen Iverson Sixers. "
You have repeatedly made a very common and valuable ability sound pejorative.
I do not remember ever seeing an exceptional (maybe any) point guard who was not an "isolation" player. Anyone who can handle and dribble can be an isolation player. Most good twos and threes, and even some fours, have also had such abilities. Even fives, with moves, can also be isolation players.
I strongly disagree with your frequent implications that two good isolation players cannot co-exist on the same team. In fact most great teams have/had multiple isolation players. (Boston had at least seven on some of its championship teams.)
Of course, by the very nature/definition of such a play, you can only utilize one at a time. But I think it is simplistic to then assume you can only have one player with such an ability on any team. The more one has the less predictable the offense. Another fallacy is that a good isolation player does not pass. I, of course disagree with you, and believe Miller has belied that throughout his career...and last year.
You often compare Andre's game to that of AI. I think that is patently ludicrous, except for the fact that both are excellent isolation players. You once wrote that the only difference was that Miller takes fewer shots. Duh! That's the major difference between normal isolation plays and "dominating" the ball. Another is whether one dribbles twenty seconds to get a shot off to the detriment of ball movement. I may be naive, but I really doubt that many others really believe that Dre's 13 shots per last year were excessive, or that he is not an excellent passer.
I'm sure others also do not like or prefer Miller. I have no problem with that. I have no particularly great affinity for Andre other than my individual belief (as with any player) of what I think currently best for my team. I accept the fact that for everyone there is a season. I do not care who plays where if he is as good or better, or even acceptable. Life goes on.
I feel your frustration. To write something more than 8500 times and still have so many non-believers must be annoying. But even the best of friends can often disagree. I have been reminded of a great example of that many times throughout this and other threads:
[quote: "Dumb and Dumber" - Jeff Daniels (Harry) to Jim Carey (Lloyd)]
"Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!"
I apologize to all for my Lloyd-like hopelessness.
