Adrian Peterson should have been a Bear?
If we traded Briggs to the Redskins we would have had the 6th pick and Peterson would have fell to us...do we regret this now?
It would be bad for the D not to have Briggs and we would not have Olsen but I think we would be far better off with Peterson for the longterm.
When this trade was rumored...I kind of wondered why the Bears did not seem to covet this #6...Peterson was the exact player I was looking at...

For sure. We need to revamp our Defense, and EJ said it right...New Offensive Coordinator. Like WTF is Ron Turner's problem! Your job is to win, no matter how you do it, our offense has been inept this year, requiring our Defense to hold it down for way too much time. Our offense is supposed to move the sticks, whether by air and/or ground. Getting some quick scores yesterday, doesn't convince me of anything yet (except Hester is Superman & Ron Turner is Kryptonite). Seriously, we as fans should select our next RB, bypassing Angelo's "decision-making." (Normally, I'm upset the day after a loss, probably because I'm tired to vent right after the game.)

Nope not really.
Hindsight is 20/20 now that we look back at the draft. If we had given up a star defensive player you better believe your ass Angelo was looking at picking up another defensive player. Gaines Adams was the obvious choice at #6 for the Bears if they had actually made that trade.
You have to remember at the time we had no clue how Benson was going to turn out, still don't.
The offseason was also a huge ego trip for the Bears front office so they weren't going to admit they made a mistake with Benson by picking up another running back in Petersen. Yes we got Wolfe in the 3rd round(?) but he was meant for a sideline type back and a short passing game. We have yet to see it, but I think that is the main plan with Benson going up the middle. However our O-line hasn't provided the blocking for such an attack.

The Bears thought Benson was the next big thing and would of passed on Peterson for the Safety that the Redskins drafted, which by the looks of it would of been a good pick up for the Bears.
Plus I like Olsen, his skill and bravado make will make him a top TE in the NFL in a few years, let's just hope he has a QB to throw him the ball consistently or an offensive coordinator who can game plan better, because make no mistake we have the weapons to have a decent offense.
