He's probably right. MM and TT were joined at the hip because of this Favre saga...I would be shocked if TT fired him after this season.

Problem w/ hiring a new coach but not new GM is no coach wants to come on under a embattled GM.
IF TT were fired the next year, the coach would be facing a new GM who he wasn't hired by. New GM wants his guy.

IF we miss playoffs = both TT & M3 go!

Why should we be missing playoffs? Unacceptable. A weak roster at critical positions is on TT & lots of mistakes, penalties & poor play calling is on M3.

Playoffs they stay. Miss and gone!

1) McCarthy needs to go. Many problems come down to him. Undisciplined team with poor playcalling. We need to bring back the screen game, it works once with Green and then we never do it again? No quick slants?

2) Crosby is erratic and his leg isn't looking very strong. Rarely kicks off into the end zone. We should be able to find an upgrade.

This defense barely got a hand on Brett, and constantly left gaping holes in the secondary. I just wanted them to sack him ONCE. You couldn't do that? Not even after watching them do the same sh** to us a month ago? Where is the freaking creativity?

I mean, my God, the only time Favre looked flustered all game was when we got in his face on back-to-back plays and nearly caused turnovers. Favre is notorious for rushing his reads when he gets pressure on him, leading to poor decisions and picks. The scheme just didn't get it done.

Favre killed us when we blitzed in both games.

I'm not sure it is as simple as the coaching. Maybe it is. But the Vikings simply have a good offensive line, the best RB in the league and a QB who is one of the best at all time in evading the sack. And our defense isn't an over-powering physical force like the philosophy we had under Fritz Shurmur.

And a small part of the D's problem is the fact our offense many times in the first half is unable to put together sustained drives with a running game to give the D a rest. It seems like our offense much of these last three years is have Grant, Jennings or Driver make some great 50-yard play.

Probably not but I wanted to see what an NFL insider's reaction would be.

•Aaron Rodgers was limping severely after the game.

Lovely.

Well that **** sucked.

• Field position battle clearly went their way.
• Stupid penalties handed them points
• Too many five steps drops and deep routes
• Still had a chance at the end, but Rodgers should have ran for it on 3rd down
• 51 yard FG in that wind? When we would still need another score despite having no TOs.

McCarthy could go tomorrow and I wouldn't care.

Look, there's no doubt that the Vikes have a great offensive line...possibly the best in football. But, we all know that giving Favre all the time in the world isn't going to help our chances. What's the solution? I don't know. I just know that I've seen other teams get pressure on Favre, both by having exotic blitz packages and by mere pressure from the linemen.

If our problem is a players thing, then why hire Capers in the first place if we're not going to give him the players to run his system? If it's a coaching thing, then that obviously falls on Capers shoulders.

It seems like a lose-lose situation, but honestly, that defense has been incredibly underwhelming when we've needed them the most.

He also killed us when we sent no pressure/ineffective pressure. But, we at least flustered him the few times we did get pressure. I'd rather blitz him and take a chance at forcing him to make a bad play, which he eventually always does, than stand back and hope that he won't find an opening with a core of Harvin, Berrian, Rice, and Shiancoe.

I think Darrell Bevell would be an interesting coaching candidate.
