According to the Arizona Republic, the Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks are discussing a deal that would send first baseball Lyle Overbay to the Diamondbacks for catcher Chris Snyder.
The 28-year old Snyder, who underwent back surgery in September, lost his starting job to Miguel Montero last season. He hit .200 with a .333 on-base percentage with six home runs, but in 2008, when his back was healthy, he hit .237 with 16 home runs and an on-base percentage of .348.
Overbay is in the final year of his contract that will see him make $7 million in 2010. Snyder has two years left plus an option that would see him make 4.75 million in 2010, $5.75 million in 2011 along with either a $6.75 million salary or a $750,000 buyout in 2012.

I have no problem with the Jays trading Overbay... but I would expect a bit more than this.
