Tim Duncan and Antonio McDyess recorded double-doubles, Tony Parker had 19 points and seven assists, and the San Antonio Spurs earned their first road win of the season with a 92-84 victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday.

Duncan had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and McDyess added 15 points and 14 boards as the Spurs won for the first time in five games away from home.

Luis Scola had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Trevor Ariza added 17 points and a season-high 11 rebounds for Houston.

Pistons can't seal deal against Chris Kaman and Clippers, lose 104-96
Oops, it happened again.The Detroit Pistons led much of the way against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night at The Palace of Auburn Hills before a fourth-quarter lapse that resulted in their seventh consecutive defeat. The Clippers ran off with a stunning 104-96 victory. Chris Kaman, a former Wyoming Tri-unity Christian High School and Central Michigan standout, led Los Angeles with 26 points, including a pair of clutch mid-range jump shots in the final minutes. He finished 11-of-13 shooting from the field and contributed seven rebounds, three assists and a block. It's the first win of Kaman's NBA career in his home state.

The Clippers (7-10), who had dropped 13 consecutive games against the Pistons, last defeated Detroit on its home court Feb. 19, 2001. It included a streak of eight consecutive losses at The Palace. The Pistons (5-11) led for much of the game. The Clippers opened the fourth quarter with an 8-2 scoring burst to pull ahead 82-77 on Marcus Camby's dunk. Kaman nailed a foul-line jumper with less than 3 minutes left and hit a 12-foot shot with 51.8 seconds remaining to seal the outcome.

Jonas Jerebko hit all four of his 3-point attempts and led the Pistons with 22 points.Rodney Stuckey, who inherited the leading scorer's role from injured Ben Gordon, finished with 21 point, seven assists and two turnovers. Baron Davis turned in a solid performance with 25 points, 10 assists and five boards, while Al Thornton added 19 points -- 12 in the fourth quarter -- for the Clippers, who snapped a 13-game losing skid to the Pistons and won for the first time in the last nine at The Palace. Eric Gordon netted 14 points for LA, which fell 86-73 at Indiana on Wednesday. The Clippers have won three of four overall. Jonas Jerebko drained all four of his three-point tries and finished with a team-best 22 points before fouling out for Detroit, which has lost seven straight games. Rodney Stuckey went for 21 points and seven assists, but also fouled out, while Austin Daye and Charlie Villanueva chipped in with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Ben Wallace dominated the glass with a game-high 16 boards to go along with five points.

With the Pistons in front 75-74 at the end of three quarters, Thornton's jumper and dunk started an 8-2 Clippers' run to open the fourth and give them an 82-77 lead with just under nine minutes to play. The Pistons were able to surge back in front after Jerebko hit from beyond the arc for an 87-86 edge, but Thornton hit back-to-back jumpers to start a 7-0 Clippers' burst and make it 93-87 with nearly 5 1/2 minutes remaining. Marcus Camby finished the surge with a three-point play. Detroit was able to close to within 99-96 after Wallace's three-point play with a shade over a minute left, but Kaman answered with a jumper on LA's next trip and never relinquish the lead. The game was deadlocked at 27 after the opening period, then Villanueva made a three-pointer and Will Bynum added a layup in the closing minute and a half of the second to put Detroit ahead 54-47 at the intermission. Things remained tight throughout the third, and with the game tied at 67, Chucky Atkins' triple with 2:59 left in the quarter put the Pistons in front. Atkins then made 1-of-2 from the stripe in the closing seconds and Detroit had a slim lead at the end of three quarters.

The Pistons were without guard Ben Gordon due to a sprained left ankle...Bynum ended with 14 points and nine assists off the bench...LA shot 58.7 percent from the floor, but only 2-of-10 from beyond the arc. Detroit made 39.6 percent of its shots and 8-of-17 from three-point territory.

Carmelo Anthony scored a career-high 50 points, and the Denver Nuggets beat the New York Knicks 128-125 Friday night for their 17th straight regular-season home win.

Al Harrington had 41 points -- one shy of his career high -- for the Knicks, who lost their fourth straight. David Lee added 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Anthony scored 13 points in the third quarter, helping the Nuggets take a 92-87 lead into the final period. The Knicks remained within striking distance, tying it at 100 with 7:56 left when Chris Andersen was called for goaltending on Nate Robinson's short jump hook.

The Wolves lost their 15th consecutive game on Friday night when Jason Richardson scored 22 points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 120-95 victory.

"They always come," Kaman said, "but it's a lot nicer to win here. I've never won a game here before." The former Central Michigan standout had a pair of baskets in the final minutes to help thwart a Pistons rally and lead the Clippers to their third win in four tries. Baron Davis added 25 points and 10 assists and Al Thornton added 19 points. Kevin Durant had 33 points and 12 rebounds, Russell Westbrook outplayed rookie Brandon Jennings, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Milwaukee Bucks 108-90 on Friday night.

Westbrook scored nine of his 20 points during a 17-0 run over the first 6 1/2 minutes of the second half. He also helped hold Jennings to 3-of-11 shooting and 12 points, 11.4 below his average.

Rookie duo can't rescue Pistons
The Pistons took a peek into the future and liked what they saw. They just didn't like the final result, which was a 104-96 loss Friday night to the Los Angeles Clippers (7-10) at The Palace. You can't fault rookies Jonas Jerebko and Austin Daye, who took advantage of another Pistons injury to show they can be important cogs in the future. They brought energy and surprising scoring to a lineup badly in need of scoring punch without leading scorer Ben Gordon, who missed the game with a left ankle sprain. He joined Rip Hamilton (ankle) and Tayshaun Prince (ruptured disc) on the sideline. The trio represents 63 percent of the Pistons offense, 58 points a game. The Pistons wanted to win it with defense but the Clippers had too much energy and surprising execution down the stretch. They shot 59 percent and overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to win going away.

Now the Pistons (5-11) must regroup for Sunday's 1 p.m. home game against the Atlanta Hawks. The hero this night was Jerebko (22 points, five rebounds) who kept the Pistons in the game with old school back door plays and 3-point baskets. He was a bundle of energy and not only filled the basket with jumpers but swept the floor with hustle plays. He might have been even more effective if not for getting into foul trouble, which caused him to be more cautious on defense. He fouled out during the final minute. Jerebko and Daye (13 points, five rebounds) became the first rookies to start together for the Pistons since Allan Houston and Lindsey Hunter started on April 24, 1994, after Isiah Thomas (ruptured tendon) missed the final regular season game during a dismal 20-62 season. Thomas retired at the end of the season and the Pistons brought in another rookie -- Grant Hill -- who turned into an All-Star before leaving the team for Orlando. Rodney Stuckey chipped in 21 points and seven assists and Ben Wallace five points and 16 rebounds. However, the Pistons shot just 41 percent. Both Daye and Jerebko had their moments, but it was Jerebko who became a go-to guy during two important stretches. The Pistons trailed 39-38 late in the second quarter when Jerebko went to work. He hit a hook shot, layup and 3-point shot to propel the Pistons to a 54-47 halftime lead.

In the fourth he rallied the Pistons to an 87-86 lead on two back-door cuts and a 3-point basket. Daye was steady throughout and finished with 13 points and five rebounds. During one stretch the Pistons fielded one of the tallest lineups in the NBA, even though the 6-foot Will Bynum led the unit at point guard. He was surrounded by 6-9 Wallace, 6-10 Jerebko and 6-11 forwards Charlie Villanueva and Daye. The Clippers took over in the fourth quarter. Marcus Camby's three-point play with 5:32 remaining gave them a 93-87 lead. The Clippers extended the lead to 97-90 before Jerebko hit a 3-point basket to slice it to 97-93. But the dagger came moments later when former Central Michigan star Chris Kaman (26 points, seven rebounds) hit a jumper in the lane to extend the lead to six. Clippers forward Al Thornton (19 points, four rebounds) made critical plays down the stretch and Baron Davis led the Clippers with 25 points and 10 assists. After the Kaman basket the Pistons fought to the bitter end. Ben Wallace made a three-point play to slice the lead to 99-96 with 1:07 remaining. But Kaman hit another jumper to make it 101-96.
