Turning this crap off before I bust up my TV. Pulling my hair out over Flip's rotations.

I've got to admit, although I like Flip, I don't understand his fascination with Stevenson. But, the thing is, it don't matter if Stevenson or Young is playing. This team is still a bunch of shot jacking, no defense playing losers. At this point, I could care less if we trade everyone on this team away.
The reason he has to go with ds is because nick is soft as tissue. Nick chickens out against physical contact and can't convert And One moves because his game is designed to avoid contact. Nick and mcgee are soft.
Mcgee has no noncept of carving out advantageous space and securing with a wide base. He is quick to bounce out of position instead of holding his grown and shoving anyone who attempts to steal the advantageous space that he has earned. He is also quick to give up this same space when going for offensive rebounds. No aggression when another big challenges his space on a post entry. Chickens out
It was good seeing nick attack amare in the paint it would have been nice if he finally makes an And One shot. MCGEE too. They are making progress but the fact that mCGEE still isn't strong enough to hold his position on post entry pass against strong post player shows is softness. He also goes for the block but isn't aggressive enough to immediately get back into the lane and shove someone to get the rebound off the miss he created.
WD, for a long time people scoffed at your posts but seems to me they're doing a lot more listening now.
Javale IMO does what you say he does and is by your description soft, but he's also very young at 21. When I see McGee I think about two players. Larry Nance and Pau Gasol.
Nance had Brad Daugherty at C, so he could pretty much just be a run and jump athlete. I don't remember Nance having many strong moves but like Javale he has extreme length, hops, and athleticism. Flip and nobody on this team can help Javale be like Nance. Javales' getting no playing time and he's being forced to reside on the low blocks and not utilize his footspeed. He's being asked to be something he cannot be--yet. He's not being allowed to do what Nance did, run like a dear and dunk the ball on people's heads.
The other guy I brought up, Pau, was SOFT but more hightly skilled than Javale from his NBA beginning--but he had already been a pro in Europe before coming to the NBA. One thing about Pau though is he took YEARS before he bulked up. Just last year he gained the weight and strength to carve out space on the low blocks. I look at Javale and see the same body type of a Pau or a Dirk and know he's capable of getting bigger and stronger than either of them. Nowhere near their skill level, but McGee has A LOT MORE SKILL than Flip allows.
The Andray Blatche we're seeing is fourth year pro. Eddie Jordan might have had a grudge against Andray like he did Brendan, but EJ started McGee over Blatche and I recall Javale having some pretty explosive games with good numbers. Like this Randolph kid at GS in a way.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
