So a couple more hours. Nice.
Considering staying up, but I have a feeling I'm gonna regret staying up for nothing, ie I don't think he's gonna get moved.

Alright, dream is over.
The SSOL lineup was a one in a million thing and now that's it;'s really been gone for some time, I'm ay more interested in seeing us develop a team along the lines of out second unit .. who should be partially moved intot he starting lineup
With Nash, Dragic, Rolo, Duds, Amar'e starting, we add some more dirt worker types for the new second unit. There's some good hard-working types who will be easier to add than big names, and likely give more results. I'm hopeful, and I'm really glad Kerr had the nuts to stand pat if he couldn't get a deal he liked.
I'd much rather deal Stat over the summer if that's what we have to do.
Only problem is dealing STAT over the summer depends entirely on if Amare wants to do it. He has to either (a) make the choice to opt in, or (b) agree to a sign-and-trade. But he can completely screw the Suns if he wants -- and the Suns have not done anything to give him a reason NOT to screw them -- and opt out into free agency.

He also is limited to the Clippers (if they don't sign Lebron - but why would they with Griffin?), Nets (bare cupboard), Knicks (Mike D isn't a fan), Chicago (not big fans and want Bosh more) and maybe Miami (will be at $40 mil with only 4-5 players under contract if they signed Amare and keep Wade).
So, let's say Amare opts out. The Clippers spend their money on different guys (maybe Lebron) since they have Griffin and Amare doesn't fit. The Knicks don't want him and Chicago signs Bosh. Now, he is left with maybe Miami or the Nets - and neither offers him a max deal. What does he do then? His only option is to resign with Phoenix (without his option) or try a sign-and-trade. Declining his option would be extremely stupid and Amare and his agent know this. If he wants out, pick up his option and work on a trade to a contender. Otherwise, pick up the option and sign an extension - those are his only options.

Is it 100% official that Amare is staying in Phoenix?

I think wade is still closer to leaving than staying so the heat is on Riley!. Kerr needs to be smart about this. the cavs deal was crap! the miami deal is better but its a low ball trade. admit it, amare is stayin!

Amare, Wade, and Rose in Chicago doesn't seem like it has enough touches to go around. Rose and Bosh makes more sense. But Bosh seems like a perfect 5 for D'Antoni's system.

A sign and trade will get us even crappier offers this summer, since teams know that they don't need to give up any assets to obtain Amare; they can just sign him outright.
Hickson, Ilgauskus, 30th pick was not a good offer, but seriously, Hickson and the 30th pick>nothing! Unless we extend him(and the chances of that happening are pretty slim), then we are double screwed when he walks this summer. You can't let him walk. You can't do that. You have to get SOME value for him, or you extend him. Those are your only options.

So now maybe Miami is out, too! Good going, Suns!
