If he bought into it and played with confidence then he would eat other teams 2nd units alive. He's got tons of skill and scoring is his forte if he's the focal point of the offense as he should be in the 2nd unit he should dominate other teams while their starters are off the floor. But, this only works if Hawes buys into that role.
I also agree that hawes plays his best basketball when he is on the floor with Beno so those two should be like a package deal when you've got hawes on the floor you need to bring in Beno because it really is all about chemistry between players.
I disagree with the idea that a Landry Thompson front court is playing small ball. Landry is a smaller PF but he's long and athletic allowing him to play bigger, Thompson is as big or bigger than most centers in the league and he's strong enough to handle the position.
Eh, depends on what you need from your bench. I'd rather have energy and aggression coming off the bench and stability in the starting unit. You have two guys that bring both, I guess to each their own.
Reke needs to look towards the middle of the floor off the pick and roll. For the first time even Grant mentioned how wide open Landry was. He had Landry on an easy run to the rim if he'd just swing that ball over the top or in between the double team.
Couldn't disagree more with the last statement. Landry IS NOT long for a PF, and Thompson is not strong enough to handle the position. Landry is pretty strong though, I didn't realize he was this strong. A little bit like Brockman, what ever hits him more often than not bounces back the other way.
Westphal really needs to start settling on not only a lineup, but a style of play. With Landry and Evans being our "go to" guys, he needs to start basing an offensive system around them. A good offensive system has at least one other option besides the first, this team has been a first option or nothing team for too long now, it has to stop.
