No. I think we played a fair game. The problem is that this front court isn't the best defensively. When we don't rebound it makes it all that more worse.

We didn't play bad. The Thunder just played a little better.

This team misses Thompson and Brockman.

What is the Maloofs obsession against skinny big men? OK City is bright and filled with skinny men. Portland also has all skinny big men.

This team was working very well early this season with the Greene/Thompson/Hawes frontline.

The difference bewteen OKC, Portland or Sac is they stuck with the drafted core through good and bad. The Kings have had 85 different lineups this year. You need stability to win in the long term in the NBA.

This isn't a bad defensive frontcourt. The rebounding was a problem and it very well could be from here on, but Spencer and Carl didn't play terrible defense, it was just when they did make a mistake the Thunder capitalized on it. I still say the pace of the game was the problem, the 2nd half was way more our style but it was already too late, the Thunder were too hot by that point. Moving forward it would be really nice to have a SF that can help pick up some of slack in the rebounding department. Defensively Spencer switched off to help a lot and there was nobody back there to help on the boards, but he certainly needs to rack up some more defensive boards.

Still, I'm happy with the game overall. Another SOLID 4 quarters in which we hung with one of the toughest and best rebounding teams at home. It was also a game in which this team saw a lot of zone D, something that usually grinds this team to a halt. Westphal has to give Dorsey some more minutes though!!! He was playing some great help D when he was in there.

Well, you guys can imagine my frustration when I was at work until nearly 2, looking forward the whole night to coming home and watching a recording of the Kings game only to find out it was one of the couple games a year league pass just doesn't cover for some reason.

Anyway, it seems we played pretty well. Losing by a few to the Thunder on the road is satisfactory for me. It seems rebounding was the real problem. Chalk it up to not having JT or Brock, I suppose.

Man, what a letdown that I couldn't watch it though.

I agree, we miss JT's rebounding. When JT comes back, it'd be nice if he can stay on the floor and really clear the boards for us. If he can develop into a solid D player without picking up crap fouls, and really control the boards, he would be the big man we need next to Landry and Hawes.

Hawes didn't play terrible D, he made a few mistakes letting Nenad get a backdoor dunk, but that happens when you have threats like Westbrook and Durant out there. The D wasn't the real issue last night IMO. It was the 22 second chance points. If you rebound a little better and cut those in half, we win the game. Period. Rebounding is a concern obviously, but OKC is 3rd in the league in rebounding, which is surprising.

But hey, I'm glad we played well and were right there. OKC played a great game and we lost by 6 on the road. They've won 12 of 14, thats pretty damn impressive. I know if I met them in the first round of the playoffs, they would be a scary team to face. I would not be surprised if they knocked off a team like Utah.
