Several investors contacted this week say they have yet to learn whether they will retain their shares under Jordan’s ownership group. Johnson is believed to have owned 70% to 80% of the franchise at the time of the sale, up from the 65% he possessed in 2004. At that time, Johnson hoped to sell off as much as 49% of the club. Instead, as deficits piled up, minority partners declined to participate in capital calls, and Johnson accrued more and more shares in the team.
From this it appears Jordan has anywhere from 75-90%.
Figure 35% from 300 million? 105 million, leaving him out 195. 80% of 175 is 140 million, so he'd have gotten 245 million from his initial investment which is a 55 million loss. If Johnson also had to cover say 20 million a year in losses on average that's roughly a 175 million negative.
Of course this is all speculation...but man that's a lot of cash.
