Well, considering the 25 years of futility that preceded him, he had relative success here. He took the team to the playoffs four years running, with a poorly balanced roster and poor defense (and, in many ways, lousy coaching). When the Wizards' record last year dramatically reflected these issues, he was booted.
In Philadelphia, he brought nothing to stop the team's decline, and his coaching was possibly the single greatest contributor to that decline, though lack of a PG surely helped. If the 76ers got the 8th seed this year, he'd be there next year. They're lucky that it didn't happen and they get a high draft pick and a shot at a coach that can take them a little farther than EJ could.
