Farmar: Bench poison?

I can understand why Farmer is mad. He sits on the bench watcuing Fisher play no defense, make no passes worth a damn, make bad decisions, and chuck up bad shots as a starter. Farmer sits there and thinks I can do all that and occasionly make a decent pass to get an easy basket for this team. He is right; the problem lies in the fact he is better than the worse starting PG in the league; but barely better, without the intangibles.

I'm going to have to agree with that. Farmar is the guy that should be starting and everyone knows it. Fisher brings almost nothing to the table except his supposed "leadership". His court production is awful and many times costly. The fact that several of us would even suggest that Farmar be a starter is a testament to just how sorry Fisher is these days.

I just dont get it hall of famer Hubie Brown, Jalen Rose, Anderson, Ford, Miller, Van Gundy and Fatello, I have all heard say these amazing things about Farmar. Yet it seems this is lost on Jackson. Is it the system Is that why Farmar's game isnt't giving the Lakers 16pts 10 Ast games every night.

Less we forget Farmar did come out of a UCLA that had some top line NBA ready gaurds and I think most were playing behind him. Collison anyone?! Affallo, hello? Why don't we let this kid loose or trade him already. If he was on the Knicks this guy would be showing his butt off! Dantoni would just fall in love with this kid's game I bet. I jut have this feeling if the Lakers let him go, he will spend his whole career making sure the Laker orginization never lives it down.

By the way anyone catch Farmar at CHAMPS in Northridge last night? My sister said there was a huge crowd.

I agree with this. He SHOULD be starting. He does make mistakes but no where near the costly mistakes that Fisher makes. Plus he can play better defense and create his own shot off the dribble.

Maybe i was right...he is bench poison because he doesnt belong on the bench. Which would make Fisher starer poison. Love Fish and he DOES bring leadership but we need to him anchor off the bench and not as a starter. Both he and Phil though are so set in their ways that it would take an act of congress for either to budge on putting Farmar in his place.

I may not agree with Farmar's attitude with still coming off the bench but i can see why he is frustrated watching an aging PG eat up valuable minutes.

Here another point.....Phil is always worrying about Fisher's minutes so he can be fresh for the playoffs. Hello? What better way to keep Fish fresh so that he can get in and knock down those miracle shots that ultimately validate him lol

Let Farmar walk and draft Jon Scheyer. 6'5 PG who can defend pretty well and shoot the 3. Problem solved

still holding out hope that by the time we're in the middle of the playoffs lamar will be back to the bench, luke will be in game shape again and then phil can shorten the rotation to...

lamar/luke/shannon/jordan. with jordan and shannon sharing minutes depending on whose s*cking less.

no more sasha or powell (he showed flashes last season in spot minutes, but has been terrible in his time this year), ever.

also as others have said, the bench will be cleared out next season. while we don't have the cap room to acquire great reserves, at this point seems like anything would be an upgrade.

If they aren't going to keep him, they should have traded him this past deadline. Now he will walk away for nothing? Ridiculous move. Mitch certainly is not doing much with the little things lately, little tweaks to keep us on top.

I'm pretty certain he's a restrictes free agent. I guess that is Mitch saying if you want to over pay for him you can have him, but if its within reason, we can match the offer.
