Humble Pistons Trade Proposal
Rip+#7+#36 for Love and Gomes and Sessions? Love has a year then a TO and then a QO, Gomes has 2 years left before a PO. and Sessions is under contract for 3 more years.
Minnesota would have two lottery picks (#2 and #7 slots), the 16th, 36th, 45th, and 56th picks, 19.2 million in cap room (56.1-36.986194) i.e. a crack at a max free agent, and the option to re-sign Darko Milicic and/or pick up the QO on Nathan Jawai.
If you were to draft everybody that DraftExpress has in their mock, you'd be, prior to free agent signings:
Flynn/(Alexey Shved)
Hamilton/Ellington/(Xavier Henry)
Evan Turner/Brewer
Jefferson/(Ed Davis)/(Luke Harangody)
Milicic*/Hollins/(Artsiom Parakhouski)/Nathan Jawai*
Detroit is:
Stuckey/Sessions
Gordon/Daye
Prince/Gomes/Summers
Jerebko/Villanueva/Maxiell
Love/Wilcox

Re: Humble Pistons Trade Proposal
Interesting idea, similar to the Jefferson for Prince+7th deals.
I think the difference in the deals kills this deal. Prince has a 1 year deal, Rip has a 3 year deal. Love is on his rookie contract, Jefferson is on his normal bigger deal.
The Al for Prince+7th is plausible, but I do not feel a Rip+pick for Love deal is even something we could consider.
If Love is moved, big if, but if he is moved it will be for a similar production and age prospect at the wing position.

For someone trying to sound knowledgeable, your cap IQ is lacking as is your ability to sweet talk a fan-base into a pretty bad deal.

This is ugly bad for us. Hamilton is 32 and gets paid what, $35M over the next 3 years?

Hamilton makes an even 12.5 mil. next season, while the added salaries of Love, Sessions, and Gomes comes out over $11,862,600. I'm not sure if that would work under the the trade rules, but it seems pretty close.
I don't really like this deal for the Wolves either, IMO the only deal that's really plausible is something like our lottery pick (if we don't move into the top 3) and Prince for Jefferson. Even then IDK if it's enough from the Pistons end.

19.2 cap room is what I am talking about as far as the cap IQ.

I acknowledge that I did not factor in cap holds for Milicic/Jawai and the draft picks, but even if I committed a typo/mathematical error/misguidedly trusted hoophype's salary information, I don't think you have any right to question any aspect of my IQ.

It did. I should have posted the trade ID.

I did not attempt any sweet-talking. I presented an offer that works under the trade checker and detailed the assets that would remain after the trade. I'm not going to kiss your e-ass so you'll like my trade proposal. I was attempting a different take on Prince+7 for Jefferson, and that's all.

Re: Humble Pistons Trade Proposal
The point of the Prince + 7 for Jefferson deal for us is to take a guy on a bigger contract (Jefferson) who doesn't fit with the younger, cheaper, potentially better system fit at the same position (Love) and swing him for a versatile, veteran wing who expires in a year (Prince) while adding a top 10 pick.
This trade is backwards. We take on more salary, get older and give up a guy we really like, a guy who's contract isnt guaranteed, and a steady back up PG that most wish would get more PT or even start.

Hmmm, I wonder who this would include. Off the top of my head I can think of:
Anthony Randolph (if viewed as a SF)
Thaddeus Young
Wilson Chandler
Danilo Gallinari
James Harden
Any of those guys interest us? Anyone I'm leaving off?

Jeff Green, Wes Johnson, Aminu all seem more likely.

Would you do the deal with any of the following additions?
Hamilton, #7, and Austin Daye OR Rodney Stuckey OR Jonas Jerebko for Love/Gomes/Sessions?

No the foundation of your trade is bad. The core is bad. wrapping a pretty little bow on it will not help.

Re: Humble Pistons Trade Proposal
I know this is off topic, but if the team misses out on Turner and a Love for Harden based deal is on the table I'd probably take it. Seems like one of the best fits for the Triangle in the league.

Re: Humble Pistons Trade Proposal
James Harden?
I think he has the skill set, I could get into that idea. Much more then the Love for Green ideas. I do feel that Love carries greater "value" then Harden does, but that could be homer goggles. Perhaps if OKC attached a little extra.
I was a big fan of Harden last year and think that would be a nice follow up plan if we get the 3rd pick. Favors would be a defensive help with this team and both of those players "fit" with Rubio and the system.
