Red Sox: Beckett, who has a career record of 107-68, hasn't settled into a consistent groove yet. In his last start, he gave up seven earned runs over seven innings, walking five and striking out four. He threw 114 pitches. In 25 2/3 innings, Beckett has 17 strikeouts and 10 walks. Opponents are hitting .283 against Beckett thus far. Beckett has had his share of struggles against the Blue Jays, going 3-5 with a 6.62. In five starts at Toronto, he is 1-2 with a 7.76 ERA. Beckett is a 50-37 career pitcher on the road with a 3.70 ERA.
Blue Jays: Eveland turned in another impressive showing in his last start, surrendering only one extra-base hit in the Jays' 4-3 win over the Royals last Tuesday. The 26-year-old left-hander allowed eight hits and three runs (two earned) with two walks and three strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings of a no-decision. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound southpaw has yielded just four earned runs over 18 2/3 innings in the month of April, which translates to an impressive 1.93 ERA. Eveland is 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA in three starts (two while with Oakland) against the Rays since coming over to the American League in 2007.

BOS Clay Buchholz, RHP (1-2, 2.70) @ TOR To be announced
Red Sox: Buchholz is coming off what was easily his best start of the season, albeit in a loss to the Rangers. The righty started the night with six shutout innings, but gave up three runs in the seventh. Over 6 2/3 innings, he allowed six hits and three runs while striking out a career-high 10. This will be Buchholz's first start of the season against the Blue Jays, a team he thrived against last year, going 3-1 with a 3.60 ERA. Buchholz was particularly impressive in his two starts at Rogers Centre, going 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA. Opponents are hitting .265 against Buchholz in his career.
