I see it as both good and bad.

I too, worry a little about his durability - but the article states that the surgery would only put him on the shelf for a couple of weeks. He could easily go in and have it done after the season and still be in fine form for training camp. It's a good sign that he's willing to play through pain in order to help the team win when it matters - everyone just has to hope that nothing happens to aggravate it further and make it into something more serious.

Anyone here have any insight into the medical end of meniscus tears and getting a minor scope done? It seems he has tried to let it heal through rest thus far, but a surgery could be a more permanent repair now that it has been damaged further?

Is Jose's defense really that bad?

You bet!

He's wretched. His DRTG was 116, which is bad even considering the terrible overall team DRTG (an amazing 110.2).

Having said that, he's on absolutely the worst team to mask his inadequacy on defence. We have no interior defence, few capable team defenders and a coaching staff that's flawed in every conceivable way. Not making excuses for him (you won't find many people who think less of Jose's game than I do), but he would look a bit better at that end on other teams.

It's pretty bad, though I'd say he's probably around the same as Fisher is currently.

He would look really good offensively with the Lakers though. He would do basically everything the Lakers would want out of a 1 in the triangle.

Bosh and Jose for Bynum, Walton and Vujacic

Raps unload Jose and get a nice expiring contract in Vujacic

Bynum is a risk but only under contract for 2 more years.

I still like this deal (with Jose)

Man, D..maybe, maybe.
But Fish is a very smart team defender who know where to be, how to rotate and how to defend in transition. Jose is just lost all the time. Fisher's impact on D is far less negative than Jose's.

Fisher shut down Williams in the 4th of last night's game. Jose is simply incapable of doing that.

I honestly wouldn't want either Fish or Jose as my PG on a contender. Jack I could see as a Lakers championship PG, Jose not.

I don't really care about Bynum's knee. I want him on the Raptors. It's high risk, high reward, but at this point, that's the sort of thing we have to bet on.

Same afred. It's better than the Houston deal. I say Bynum + Sasha for Bosh

Lakers save 2.5 million to go get Duhon/Ridnour/PG in FA and we get an expiring contract to use in Sasha

I'm with you, going right back into a full rebuild would **** suck
Make this move, if he's healthy the Raps would be competing next year.

If he isn't healthy then you have cap space and look to rebuild in two years, Turk is much more tradeable at that point, you've already gotten out of the Jose contract

Yeah, as concerned as I am, I'd still take Bynum over 50 meh assets from Houston.

Turk plays better with a solid low post C. I'd hope he'd come into camp ready and playing better with bynum which will give him some trade value

Also I don't get why everyone wants the Houston package (with an exception to some). I for one don't trust the raptors to draft well. What if that player is a bust? I'd rather take the proven player over a pick

especially considering the houston deal without including Jose or Turk

Raps would still be stuck with those contracts + a bunch of mid picks and decent prospect in Hill that at this point I'd rather put the time into Amir and the Raps still don't have a traditional C.

I understand that, and frankly, if Bynum is on the table and Bosh is down with LA, I'd take that.

But if Bynum isn't on the table - let's say the Lakers offer Odom, Vujacic and picks - I go for Houston. The fact is, if you get enough picks you will ace some of them. Golden State had a lot of recent lottery misses (O'Bryant, Diogu, Wright), but even they hit a home run with Stephen Curry and they have picked up some nice complementary players in the second round and the D-League. And Anthony Randolph has good upside - he was a 14th pick two years ago.

yep your right Dagger. If they offer Odom, i walk. If they offer Bynum i take it over the Houston deal but if they offer that Odom deal i look at other teams and likely take the Houston package.

I'm really hopeful we can recieve as many draft picks as possible. Sure, some of them may not pan out, but if 1 o 2 do, it could entirely turn a franchise around, depending on the player. For every bust, there are also some gems that slip into a team's lap. The more eggs we put into the basket the better chance that team is us.

I brought this up like 3 months ago and most hated the idea and some liked it. Now people are starting to warm up.

LOW POST BIG > PERIMETER BIG.
