Source=Yourself ?

Tired of supposed sources on this board. Unless you know someone in the know, get out of here with that source BS.

Nope.

Thanks, Anor.

Right, that's what I said.

What evidence? Your only evidence is him thinking he's in the right and leaking his side of the story to the media.

And Paxson apologizing and wishing he could take his actions back. And calling a press conference do so. By comparison, Vinny made no such concessions in his brief exit interview. And obviously didn't feel one was necessary in order to help him find another job.

But hey, doesn't really matter to me what Bulls fans choose to believe, but I doubt that outsiders are going to look so forgiving upon Paxson.

The clearest solution for the Bulls (and the one I preferred) would have been to get rid of Vinny and Paxson both. Then regardless of who started what, that guy is no longer in the organization to repeat such a incident.

If Paxson came out and said that he made a mistake in drafting Tyrus Thomas, do you think some people would come and say that, somehow, Paxson's comments didn't matter, the evidence that Tyrus was kind of a bust didn't matter and that Paxson made the right call? I'm kind of getting an infallibility vibe right now. We need a Paxson as the Pope next to Baghdad Bob jpg.

Well like I said, the likelihood, even the possibility that Paxson was largely at fault, looks bad for the team.

I don't think Jeff Van Gundy is sitting at home doing mental gymnastics trying to convince himself that hey, maybe Vinny Del Negro was really the guy that started the altercation and John Paxson is really innocent.

And maybe that is why JVG isn't even on the Bulls list of expected interviews, because they already know from his on-air comments that he doesn't find that acceptable behavior and they have no chance to recruit him.

I don't believe that the media is out to get Paxson.

Isn't that exactly what they're doing by spreading a "false" story that he pushed or tried to punch Del Negro?

I don't know if its false or not.

Jerry Reinsdorf: Del Negro. Take your hair spray and 4-page playbook and get out of my sight.

Del Negro: You said I could keep those! They're not company property!

Reinsdorf: I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.

All that shows is that Pax recognizes his role in the matter. It doesn't mean Vinny is without fault. You keep making leaps of logic that are not supported by the available evidence. They are only supported by rumor and your prejudices.

Rerisen wrote:By comparison, Vinny made no such concessions in his brief exit interview. And obviously didn't feel one was necessary in order to help him find another job.

Huh? You weren't there for his exit interview. And again, people can see an event differently. We're back where we started. Just because Vinny think he's without fault doesn't mean it's true

Rerisen wrote:But hey, doesn't really matter to me what Bulls fans choose to believe, but I doubt that outsiders are going to look so forgiving upon Paxson.

Why not? He apologized. In fact, he was pretty stand up about the matter in the press conference. And what Bulls fans think does matter to you. Why else are you posting here?

Darth Jerry, now that's what I'm talkin' about 8-)

Is Boba Fett Paxson, the guy who just doesn't go away?? (if you saw the movie, you think he dies, but he actually survives the sand monster if you find out what happens after the last star wars movie).

If Paxson knew Vinny was equally at fault, I kinda doubt they would be all chummy chum right now without Vinny doing his equal part to apologize in the same fashion. The leap of logic is that Paxson would volunteer to be the sole fall guy when there is no reason for him to fall on his sword for Vinny now that VDN no longer works for the Bulls.

Huh? You weren't there for his exit interview

I meant his interview outside the Berto after Paxson and Gar talked.

Just because Vinny think he's without fault doesn't mean it's true

Apparently Paxson doesn't think Vinny is at fault either. Because he was ok with taking all the blame. Or else he just likes being shat on.

And what Bulls fans think does matter to you. Why else are you posting here?

This is not exactly like discussing how bad Kirk Hinrich is at putting the ball in the hole.

As far as this issue is concerned, I'm far more interested in how it makes the team look and by extension, the Bulls chances to land new talent. And how it looks is bad.

I doubt that was necessary, but whatevs.

Plenty of opinion circulating in the media thought it was, thought that Paxson would never live through this incident.

I wanted Paxson gone before this, so its just another log on the fire to me.

No it doesn't. There is an incredible amount of data to suggest that Paxson started it and got physical, backed up by Paxson himself. Despite that, you don't "know if its false or not".

Your other line of reasoning that it doesn't matter holds a lot more water.

Those situations aren't similar. If I was exactly in Paxson shoes, yes. I most certainly would.

I certainly wouldn't. I wouldn't ruin my reputation by apologizing to someone who pushed me.

If you instigated it by going into his office using provocative language, then maybe you should. And that's exactly what Paxson did. And it didn't negatively affect his reputation any more than it already was from starting the incident by storming into his office.

By apologizing, Paxson admitted he did it.

"It" doesn't have to mean anything more than "storming into Vinny's office using provocative language."

You may interpret it that way, but the national media hasn't.

Like Rerisen has argued, that's pretty much what matters.

Their attention span is pretty short. Once any comments are made about the press conference, quite shortly this should be the dead issue that it is.
