Interesting collection of quotes that various lotto teams have Cousins or Favors ahead of Turner.

isn't that like somebody talking about how generous they'd be with their money if they were a millionaire? ie its easy to talk a big game until you're actually in that spot

Every year discussion like this pops up and then come draft time the same guys go 1 and 2 as expected.

100% agree. It's just one article you can bank on every year. They would probably just trade down if they really coveted that player anyway (I believe this is very possible).

Yea, Rubio says hi...

btw, if any of the top 3 teams fall in love with size (always the issue in the draft) and pushes Favors and Cousins before us then we could have a shot at turner.

It seems impossible for NJN not to grab a big right?

Now we just gotta convince 76ers.

Nobody in NBA circles had Rubio going anywhere before 4th after the lottery last season.

I agree.

People still talk about big over small.

Neither Wall or Turner are franchise changers. Honestly, Wall to Cousins isn't that huge of a fall. I could easily see someone go for the big over small

Wizards bigs - Blatche, McGee (skinnier than Hollins), Oberto, Thornton (a PF in a SF body) .....
76ers bigs - Dalembert (expiring), Speights, Brand (over-the-hill in age, game, and contract), Jason Smith....
Nets bigs - Lopez, Yi, Boone, Battie....

I could see every one of those teams going big over small if Cousins performs well in workouts and, maybe most importantly, in the interview room.

Well, maybe the revelation that the Heat felt obligated to take Beasley over Mayo reverses that.

As far as Rubio being predicted top 2 or not, I think we're talking about most media and sources having him #2 and not your people in the know mnWI.

I don't think Turner falls, but teams do fall in love with size. Multiple 1st overall pick winner the Clippers took Olawakandi (which should prevent you from winning the lottery again). Newly minted multiple 1st overall pick winner the Wizards took Kwame Brown their other time with #1. A few years ago Detroit went for size with the #2.

Quick, we need to start a rumor that Turner is signed through next year by Ohio State and their boosters, with a $9M buyout that NBA teams may only kick in $500K towards.

Can't see it happening. Even if you try to rationalize it Philadelphia has more money, talent and I guess time invested in those big positions then they do on the wing. While Turner doesn't exactly fit a need he's clearly the BPA and not worth completely passing on. If they give him up it's through trade.

From our insider and from what we read and heard from Eddie, Turner is our guy unless we are absolutely blown away with an offer

Yeah, I seriously doubt the Wolves will get Turner, but expect the wiretap to have an article about it every week. :-?
