Again, I will buy into all that when I see enough of it. From what I have seen of Gallo so far, he is a big that can shoot it and help spread the floor. If he turns out to be Dirk East, that will be GREAT for you guys. But in general, people dont believe it unless they see it and I am no exception.
As far as Noah, he is not a superstar center. However, he is a very very good center, which is a luxury in a league where true centers are not falling off of trees. So...when you can get one that is averaging a double double with great defense and elite passing ability for his position, you tend to be a little excited about the kid. What, can Bulls fans not be excited about Noah's upside but NY cant be estatic over Gallo's?
Do you get upset when people call Noah nothing but a high-energy defender with limited offensive skill, ie. Tyson Chandler part deux? Or Rose a low IQ point with no jump shot (despite the fact that he shoots nearly 50% from midrange)? It likely pisses you off cause these people have only watched said player 3-4 times a year, or base their beliefs solely on popular opinion.
Most non-Knick fans believe Gallo is just a 3-pt jumpshooter, who can't defend a girl scout, probably cause he's white and Euro. Those of us who actually
watch his games know that he's already
proven much more than that. Just cause he hasn't proven himself to casual fans (who really only takes notice of a player when they become a great fantasy stat stuffer), doesn't mean he hasn't proven himself to opposing players, who have already commented on Gallo's scoring ability, from coaches to Dirk/Melo.
Point being, if you don't like it when fans who don't really watch Bulls games make uninformed opinions about your players, stop assuming so much about ours.
