I'm not a big enough stats dork to break this down completely (currently only hold the rank of "Dork In Training.") However, I'll take a stab at it:
1) I don't think anyone is dreaming of the 7 points/7 rebounds, 50 games per year Chandler we've seen the last two years. So I'm assuming we'd want the double-double machine that played in New Orleans with Chris Paul in 06-07 and 07-08.
2) In those two years New Orleans ranked 23rd and 26th in pace, according to Basketball Reference. Despite the fact that they had Chris Paul at his absolute pinnacle, the Hornets were not a running team.
3) So extrapolating from that (and again, someone could do an awesome Synergy study here), I'm going to say that most of Chandler's opportunities were in the halfcourt, not in transition. That's what I remember subjectively - Chandler playing pick and roll with Paul and slicing people up.
4) Even if Rubio arrives at training camp in 2011 as planned, he will not be at the level Paul played at from 06-08.
So based on all that I think it's fair to assume that Chandler, if he were to come here, would need to be able to rely on the offense to get points. In New Orleans when Chandler was successful in the past, the offense was Chris Paul in pick and roll situations. The triangle (and the Wolves' stated preference for an uptempo style) couldn't be more different than that approach.
