Robert $arver Anti-Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Dr Manute » Thu Jun 17, 2010 6:10 pm

* Selling & Trading Away Draft Picks (could have had Rondo, Iguodala, Fernandez, etc.)
* Letting JJ and soon to be Amare go
* Using Assests to get-rid-of Kurt Thomas and James Jones
* 4 GMs in 6 years
* Running Colangelo, Kerr, and Griffin out-of-town
* Being an Embarassment of an Owner!

F*** You $arver!!! You Suck!!!

My list is probably different from most people's but the only two things I think he messed up on was the Kurt Thomas trade and letting JJ go. I never was a fan of Kerr or Griffin so that's probably why I'm not really upset about it, I was hoping they would get some new people in the scouting department for a few years now

Damn you Sarver for being 1 of only 5 owners to pay the Luxury Tax every year since 2004. And damn you for giving us a top 6 payroll every single year.

Sarver has been a terrible owner and a shady one as well. I don't like him and I've been a fan for over 25 years. He makes financial decisions instead of basketball decisions.

We have to live with it though as there is nothing that can be done. I don't see him selling the team anytime in the near or distant future.

The biggest problem of them all is that the reputation of the Suns has changed. We are no longer a desirable destination for free agents. Players don't like/trust this man and it will really hurt us in the long term.

I don't think it will happen, but the quickest way to get $arver to jump ship is if massive amounts of fans just stop going to home games. Half-filled arenas for a season should make the Suns look like a pretty bad business to hold on to. Then the fans can come back when they get an owner that doesn't treat the team as his personal yearly bonus.

After all the **** he has pull, who would still want to work for him? Not willing to raise Kerr or Griffin (or just the whole staff for that matter) means that he's not wiling to pay more than 3 million for a GM. And on top of that Kerr was his suppose to be his guy, his buddy...

We're ****.

I can't remember in the history of sports, one team that imploded from the top down like this after a good, no spectacular season, so fast.

The Suns are NEVER going to attract a player of any quality as long as this guy is running the team.

Draft picks will beg not to be drafted and the Suns will sink to the bottom of the NBA.

This team just needed one more year to win the NBA Title. Now they will need 10-20 years to replace what they are about to lose from here on out.

There are no words to express the epic fail that Robert Sarver is as an NBA owner :nonono:

The dude is cheap. Not a good trait to have in a professional sports owner.

Don't believe the spin, or Kerr's sudden desire to be with his family. He had the perfect setup in Phoenix. He was actively negotiating an extension, and publicly thanking Gentry for making it all happen. And he's not the type to pass up shots at winning an NBA championship. Just ask Michael Jordan.

Lets start a petition asking Sarver to sell his stake as the Suns majority shareholder!
He won't step down but it would send a message that the Suns fans are not pleased with his handling of the team.

Or people can do something that would actually change anything, petitions are, for the most part, completely useless. Fans can stop going to games at US Airways Center. A half-season or so of half-filled arenas will make owning the Suns look like a pretty bad business for someone like $arver. He'll jump ship and people can start going back to games with an owner that actually cares about something besides that extra cash in his gigantic pocket.

That's what needs to happen.

I vow not to pay for any SUNS merchandise, or pay for any games as long as $arver is the owner. I will go to games if someone gives me the tickets for free, however.

I will also buy all my SUNS jerseys bootleg from China:

Thing is the Yuppies will continue buying courtside seats so Sarver won't see that much drop in revenue.

I go to the home opener every season. And I go to at least 4 or 5 other games during the season as well. And playoff games, went to both Spurs playoff games.

Every time we go to a game, I take my wife and nephew. And every time we go, we always buy a new Suns shirt, or other Suns merch.

After all this....

We will NOT be going to any games at all. Or buying any merch whatsoever, until Sarver is gone.

Return to Phoenix Suns
