It leaves the Magic losing the contract of an overpaid vet, an up and down shoot-first PG and an overpaid backup PF/C. In return we receive a perennial All Star PG, a big bodied rebounder even though his contract is huge, a vet defender and 3-point shooter and a rookie guard who scored nearly 15 ppg off the bench last year shooting nearly 38% from behind the arc. The Magic could also thrown in draft picks to make this more appealing to the rebuilding Hornets. As far as i can see, if the Magic make this deal, contention is going to be far more imminent for them for a long time. This will just make the Magic a better team by increasing already strong parts of their team game and filling the holes the team has.
Magic receive:
Chris Paul
Emeka Okafor
James Posey
Marcus Thornton
Hornets Receive:
Vince Carter
Jameer Nelson
Marcin Gortat

that is so lopsided in favor of the magic that's it's vomit inducing. c'mon guys, when making a potential trade package, consider the hornets' side of things. the only way this trade happens is if otis and his team are wearing ski masks and holding glocks
Actually, the deal is very similar to the one I proposed which ends up being a swing of around 65 million dollars that the Hornets would have invested in the next two years.
So no...it isn't robbery. It only is from a fan perspective. Not the front office and ownership.
I don't think they will trade Marcus thoug, they have him on the very cheap for the next several years, and he can be a very every good sixth man, a la Jason Terry
