He CAN'T defend the likes of D-Will, Paul, Rondo any WORSE than Fisher could. so that's a plus.

I like this move. He will irritate the opponent, and he has killer instinct. If you take out Fish and Kobe, this team lacks killer instinct (despite that we won it all). If Lamar wont provide it for the bench crew, Raja will definitely give it a good shot.

BTW i'm happy to see that the board is slowly realizing that PG is not necessarily our biggest problem.
We need deadly shooters

Do it Mitch!

Here is my Lakers plan. First the Lakers trade their current picks with some cash to the Hawks and get the 24th pick with that pick draft Eric Bledsoe. Second resign Fisher to 2yrs 4m. Third use half the MLE to sign Livingston. Fourth use the LLE or the minimum to get Bell. Fifth sign Mahinmi from the Spurs to be a back up big man. Sixth get young big man to replace Benga.
2010-2011 Lakers Roster
PG. Fisher, Livingston, Bledsoe
SG. Kobe, Bell, Sasha
SF. Artest, Walton
PF. Pau, Lamar, Mahinmi
C. Bynum, Young C.
Obviously this scenario has Farmar, Benga, Powell, Morrison, Brown all leaving via free agency and the minimum, LLE, or half the MLE can flipped with Livingston and Bell

farmar, brown, morrison etc off the books.
phil and fish both need to return.

-MLE for mike miller.
-LLE (is this the correct term?) for steve blake.
-raja bell? his style of play is what this team could definitely use. lockdown guard that can hit the 3.
-tmac? depth and slashing off the bench, providing he still has what it takes.
How's this for an almost unbelievable Laker trivia: The Lakers will miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd time since 1976.
Just 3 times in almost 40 years!!!!

If he is healthy then sure. It will let us draft another project center or give us room to try out a SF or PF in the draft (sorry Luke). Assuming we still pick up Miller or another shooter.

Mike Miller is so done , no athleticism left ... you really can't be serious about adding this guy to the squad ........
Raja Bell will add another tough element to this team ...... but the Lakers could use a guy who could create his own shot ....and save Kobe's legs .....
The Lakers need a Big Guard who can put the ball on the floor and get other teams.

Once again, for the right price, it makes sense... We need to be concious of getting "old" quickly... Why didn't he play in Golden State...

We will not spend the entire MLE on anybody... Assuming Raja is fit, could you imagine a defensive lineup of Bynum, LO, Artest, Raja & Kobe... Talk about headaches...

I would like him to be moved also but it's like they refuse to do it. As for Raja, not too much a fan of him but hey if we can get him cheap, why not.

I'd be thrilled if we could get Bell without having to dip into the MLE. One thing our team lacks is shooting, which Bell would improve drastically. I don't get how some of you are saying no to a player like Bell. He's a career 41% shooter from three, including doing that many seasons while shooting around 6 attempts per game. That is exactly what our team needs. Add in that he's a good defender, and he'd be an incredible addition to our bench. Who cares about a Kobe and Raja "beef" from a few seasons back? Anyone remember the Artest vs Kobe "beef" from last year? How did that turn out once the two put aside their differences and joined together? Oh right, a championship which more then likely would not have been won without Artest. In the Playoffs where players are continually going against the same player for possibly 7 straight games, issues are bound to come up. But that shouldn't exclude certain players from signing with our team. Kobe seems to have moved on, we should too. Bell would be a great addition to our team, and one I'd welcome with open arms.

You have to draft Vasquez over Bledsoe...

Raja would be an ABSOLUTE blessing to our squad, assuming he is healthy and takes the vet min... Lets fill the holes and go for the Back to Back to Back Baby...

seriously, we should do something with that (Please Use More Appropriate Word), i remember when people would keep saying he is a great passer and so on

he cant even hit a 12 foot wide open jump shot,

he played 77 minutes during the playoffs, he shot 30 percent from the field and 22 percent from three point range, please get rid of him

Hindsight is 20/20. I remember when they signed him to that deal, I don't think I talked to one Laker fan who was against it. He was the 3rd best player on the Lakers' team and meshed the whole team together offensively. Remember, that team was Smush, Farmer, Kobe, Evans, Luke, LO, Stone Hands, and Bynum. He hit for 40% of his threes that year. Luke was just a so-so player on a crappy team and was playing for a contract. That said, I pray to god every night that we can dump his deal.

If healthy and knows his role, I would do it. Just comes down to what he would want and who on the team stays or goes. I would do it. Would love to keep Brown. We still need another point guard.

It's not that simple to do because no one wants that contract and the only way we getrid of him is that we must take on a contract just as bad as Luke's that's howit works. Other than that we are struck with him like it or not.

D Fish - vets min
Shaq - vets min (keep Bynum) the perfect ending for Shaq & Phil!!!
Resign Brown 3 mil
Farmar doesnt want to play triangle ball and has public comments so ship his ass out.

Miller & Bell MLE (less if we can get away w/ it)

See which team has given up on their PG for expiring Sasha + ?
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

i mean, if raja bell can still play im all for signing him....but i think at age 33, thats a BIG IF...as i believe it would make him the oldest player on the squad...

also, kobe is not a lockdown defender..hes just not, sorry....you dont get the title of a great defender by playing solid defense 25% of the time....hes great when he tries, but more often than not, i see kobe sagging, being lazy, and even forgetting to box out...artest and bell are head and heels better than kobe defensively, believe it

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
