1.) You need to stop the Euro stiff stuff. you are making yourself sound foolish. The Euro is a real prospect as a playmaking SF. We have 2 of the best euro minds on our team and this is one area we should feel confident.
Thanks, but I'll keep with my point of view on this. European players are notorious for having extra high odds of becoming busts.
Frédéric Weis to
Igor Rakočević off the top of my head. There are exceptions to this of course;
Dirk Nowitzki and likely
Ricky Rubio, but with the rarity that you see a European not flamming out speaks for itself.
He also plays the SF/PF, which we have in depth. I'm not out riding Chad Ford's jock but I'm certainly not alone in my view of this player.
Bjelinca is a point forward with great ballhandling and passing skills. But he also lacks great athleticism, and he needs to add weight.
He'll probably be stashed overseas, if he plays a game for us I'll be shocked, if he has actual NBA talent I'll buy you a beer. Wasted pick.
I am upset we gave up Gomes.
Completely agree. How are we not the losers in that trade? Upgrade or not we got mugged for Webster. Al Jefferson just got that much harder to move now.
Most fans I talk to are upset that we did not package to move up and take another strong blue-chip prospect.
For a team that is supposedly trying to create a playoff caliber team in the next year or two. It feels like we just took a giant step back.
Center is still a big question mark. I'd like Darko to succeed but I have serious reservations.
The AL and Love logjam at PF must be resolved. I see this as our biggest challenge.
SF and SG obviously upgraded last night. But to playoff caliber? No.
PG is decent but could be better. Fingers crossed on the CBA and Rubio next year.
The offseason is just getting started, and I'm sure Kahn is working the phones. But with all the action of draft night and so many teams ready to wheel and deal I can't help but feel underwhelmed at the decision making behind the picks and flatness of the trades.
I want to be wrong. Nothing would make me happier than if Kahn sent us to the playoffs thanks to this draft. Somehow I don't think that will happen.
