Re: Mike Miller.... could it be?
The earlier message bout Miller being in the decline and not taking alot of shots is also what some analysts have said about MIllers free agency this summer. I personally don't think he's on the decline but that fact that he's a 3pt shooter and doesn't shoot that many threes in a game is worrying.
GO LAKERS

Wow the Wolves and Wizards both sucked. The players there were mediocre at best and I am sure its contagious when youre in a situation like that. Oh yeah dude had 2 nagging injuries that he was playing through. His shoulder and I think a calf strain (not sure) were giving him problems. Man Kobe would suck on those teams lol!

Re: Mike Miller.... could it be?
UPDATE!!!
Mike Miller in serious negotiations with Lakers
Mike Miller in serious negotiations with Lakers
So all [the LAKERS] can offer is the mid-level exception (about $5.8 million) or some part of that. The negotiations are about how much. The Lakers would like to save some of that to bring in a point guard, as well.
Which is why the early reports saying the Lakers made a five-year, $30 million deal, seemed high. But reports on ESPN Los Angeles say no offer has been made yet.

Re: Mike Miller.... could it be?
I love Mike Miller, but thought we'd key in on a stud pg, must be none available.
Kobe at the 2, Ron at the 3
Lakers up 2, a minute left, Miller's sitting on the bench right?
So much for that rumor Buss didn't want to use the MLE.
Miller fits at the 2 or 3 to spell Ron or Kobe I'd think.
But if they sign MM do the Lakers give Sasha away to a non factor team for nothing just to part with salary?
Exciting rumors, love 'em.

Only has a year remaining, expert shooter, multiple champion, dates hot tennis players, good for buzz, come and get him GM's, he can KLOSE games for you like Ray Ray @ the FT line, free to a non- factor team.

Yeah all I have been hearing is how Blake is getting crazy numbers thrown at him and so I can imagine Watson is getting the same crazy numbers that the Lakers aren't even stressing for these guys.

Re: Mike Miller.... could it be?
Miller would be a hell of a get.
It's sure nice to be the KING isn't it? These FA's seek us out.
Mitchell isn't passing out free ipod touches and wining and dining prospective FA's.
We give them a PBJ and a glass of milk and say, "Nice to have you aboard kid; sign for less than you would have got anywhere else on the dotted line."
The Knicks OR Atlanta probably would have maxed Miller out, lol.

Despite conflicting reports as to whether or not the Lakers have made an offer to Mike Miller or not, Fox's Jeff Goodman said on Twitter that they have given Miller a deadline of Tuesday to make a decision. Twitter Jeff Goodman
Mike Miller is possibly waiting for his friend LeBron James to sign and to see if he can join him. He just needs to sign with LA. Cheers!

Why do people keep referring to Sasha as a shooter?

Steve Blake would be a better fit for the Lakers and he can hit the trey.

Blake isn't a bad fall-back. But if given a choice between the two, I take Miller in a heartbeat.

Re: Mike Miller.... could it be?
I don't get how people are saying Mike Miller is on the decline. There's a difference between shooting less, and declining. He moved to new systems and shot less. Coincidence? Most likely not. Some coaches or styles of play do not want a player shooting 5-7 three point attempts per game. The key thing to look at is his percentages, which are still sky high. Clearly he is completely capable of knocking down threes still. And like others have said, the amount of open looks he would receive here compared to Minnesota or Washington is absolutely huge.
The Lakers desperately need shooting. It was nearly the downfall of our team last year. Teams could pack in the defense severely limiting our main strength (size) and we had nothing to counter with many nights since we could not shoot to save our lives. Plus, we desperately need some fire power off our bench. Other team's benches would come in and destroy ours, forcing us to bring in our starters early, which even then they'd still be competitive vs our starters. Mike Miller would be the ideal person for us. Of course a point guard would be nice, but there is no point guard available that will be a difference maker like Miller, so I'm perfectly fine forgoing those needs for Miller.

Re: Mike Miller.... could it be?
Woke up expecting Miller has accepted the offer but that didn't happen. Found this though. My guess is they will explore other options in the mean time. If Mike Miller isn't going to happen then I would like to see the Lakers go after 2 players with the MLE and split the offers. A PG and a backup wing player or backup C is what I would try to go for. Brad Miller has also sparked interest from the Lakers. Perhaps the Lakers can find a way to end up with Blake, Raja Bell, and Brad Miller. If you can fill 3 holes with just those 3 guys using only the MLE and vets min then I would call it a pretty good offseason.

Source told FOXSports.com the Lakers have given Mike Miller until next Tuesday. Miller, per source, spoke with Kobe last night.
