We can if it means committing long term money to a backup PF. 6-8 mil is a pretty good chunk of money for a backup player over the next 3-4 years.

If you were a Top 6 pick and didn't live up to expectations, David Kahn wants you.

Ty Thomas, Darko, Webster, Love, Flynn, Rubio, Brewer. Marvin Williams? Is it why Al has to go?

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind the strategy if he didn't overpay to acquire these guys.

You could have shown a better list of guys to prove your point. We haven't shown any interest in Marvin Williams, Rubio and Love haven't underachieved, Brewer is a McHale holdover.

I did, but it was a little too close to true for me to think you were kidding.

I think we all agree we want him, on that note I asked the charlotte forum if they would accept-
Al, Hollins and Sessions
for
TT, DJ augustin and Diop

and it was a unanimous yes. Which tells me they don't think to highly of DJ, but he only has two years left which means after this season, he would have an expiring contract, maybe we could move him when Rubio comes. Another offer that we could do would most likely include Tyson instead of DJ and Diop-
so
Al, Hollins and Sessions
for
TT, Tyson

or we could do Dj & Nazr instead of diop-
Al, Hollins and Sessions
for
TT, DJ & Nazr

What do you guys think of these proposals?

Why would we want this "waste management"?

Why do you keep trying to add more centers when we already have 2?

That being said, I would probably rather switch DJ with Henderson, cause we would have one PG under contract this way. But basically this is type of trade it could happen. If Thomas goes to Minny, Jefferson goes the other way.

PHTown, last time you checked him is long time ago apparently.

This is just his first game in Charlotte (not even all highlights):

LOL at 4-5M per year. That's even below the QO which is already on table. We invested a pick into him, we would surely match doule than that without hesitation. He may even command double than QO in this crazy free agency, who knows.

Not really a headcase, he actually went to Larry Brown's office before one practice to thank him saing he is coached for the first time. Off court he seems to be doing more than ok http://www.nba.com/bobcats/thomas_jeffe ... 00615.html

I can't even describe how much I hope that Charlotte gives Thomas 8 to 10 million a year. Every ridiculous contract given to a scrub big man boosts the crap out of Jefferson's trade value. 10 million a year to Tyrus Thomas might be enough to get us Dwight Howard straight up for Al.

Hi folks...a guest from the Charlotte board here. I understand your position on the salaries...this is NUTS! The jack being thrown to very average players is crazy, but every market defines itself, and we're seeing this early in free agency. Once the frenzy settles, the summer doldrums will set in and then the price will go way down. Problem is, the best bigs will likely be gone, including T2. Is he a great player? Nope, not at all. I will say he is an amazing game changer at times, and demonstrated evidence of being "coached up" in the short time between acquisiton and the playoffs (one of our best players in that sweep). Larry didn't play him nearly enough..preferring to go with the French Blah (Boris Diaw).

We don't want to lose Tyrus, but if we get Jefferson we know he would have to go. The rationale for sending Nazr in the deal is his expiring contract of $6M+. He's a good player and would could help mentor as well as serve a role (or be traded for another chip). DJ is not horrible...he regressed early but played better very late in the season. LB is hard on PG's and I think it got to him. He will be a quality back-up PG in this league. We just think Sessions would be a better fit to replace Felton.

Jefferson is a talent, but he carries a significant risk of injury. I'd love to trade you Diaw instead....
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Guilty as charged. I spoke out of turn in reference to the opinion of Charlotte's fans. While I should say I was very impressed with the blocks in the highlight, lets just say the 13 foot clanked hookshot that somehow bounced in did not exactly wow me.

I'm not saying I'm not interested in getting him, just not interested for the price it would take.

Yeah, there's a difference between ignoring opportunities to improve the team and passing on Ty Thomas because he's likely to get overpaid and and we don't really have room for him. Adding another big doesn't make sense until Jefferson's dealt, and even then, adding one at $6M-$10M wouldn't really be using common sense.

I think Corey is likely traded. Picking up someone like a Tyrus Thomas that can play the 3/4 position off the bench with 20-25 minutes would be very productive.

I love the idea of bring Ty Thomas here, but I would not put him at the 3. He's 6'10 225 and one of the best shot blockers in the league. I would much rather have him go 4/5. But that means minutes taken from Darko & Love. If we gave Tyrus 25 minutes a game I think he could come through with a solid 14ppg/7rpg/2apg/3bpg/2spg.

PF) Love- 30 mpg
C) Darko- 28 mpg
6th man) Tyrus- 25 mpg
8/9)Pekovic- 13 mpg

I would need to disagree.

Remember, in the offense the 1-4 is interchangable based on their role. Defensively, if we let him play the 3 he could provide crazy shot blocking with Love at the 4 and Darko at the 5.

Those numbers are better than what Dwight Howard puts up in 25 minutes a game.

I can't figure out who is going to do the scoring down low with that lineup.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
