Im with krapinsky on this, we were a 15 win team last year, we can't ignore opportunities to improve our team because of minute distribution.

We can if it means committing long term money to a backup PF. 6-8 mil is a pretty good chunk of money for a backup player over the next 3-4 years.

That being said, I would probably rather switch DJ with Henderson, cause we would have one PG under contract this way. But basically this is type of trade it could happen. If Thomas goes to Minny, Jefferson goes the other way.

While there is no doubt that we are lacking an athletic big man, Thomas' BBIQ turns me off. Especially for the money that someone is going to throw at him. Kind of like a higher paid, more talented Hollins. We'd end up wanting to slap him like every other fans whose team he has been on.

Hi folks...a guest from the Charlotte board here. I understand your position on the salaries...this is NUTS! The jack being thrown to very average players is crazy, but every market defines itself, and we're seeing this early in free agency. Once the frenzy settles, the summer doldrums will set in and then the price will go way down. Problem is, the best bigs will likely be gone, including T2. Is he a great player? Nope, not at all. I will say he is an amazing game changer at times, and demonstrated evidence of being "coached up" in the short time between acquisiton and the playoffs (one of our best players in that sweep). Larry didn't play him nearly enough..preferring to go with the French Blah (Boris Diaw).

We don't want to lose Tyrus, but if we get Jefferson we know he would have to go. The rationale for sending Nazr in the deal is his expiring contract of $6M+. He's a good player and would could help mentor as well as serve a role (or be traded for another chip). DJ is not horrible...he regressed early but played better very late in the season. LB is hard on PG's and I think it got to him. He will be a quality back-up PG in this league. We just think Sessions would be a better fit to replace Felton.

Jefferson is a talent, but he carries a significant risk of injury. I'd love to trade you Diaw instead....

Guilty as charged. I spoke out of turn in reference to the opinion of Charlotte's fans. While I should say I was very impressed with the blocks in the highlight, lets just say the 13 foot clanked hookshot that somehow bounced in did not exactly wow me.

I'm not saying I'm not interested in getting him, just not interested for the price it would take.

Yeah, there's a difference between ignoring opportunities to improve the team and passing on Ty Thomas because he's likely to get overpaid and and we don't really have room for him. Adding another big doesn't make sense until Jefferson's dealt, and even then, adding one at $6M-$10M wouldn't really be using common sense.

I love the idea of bring Ty Thomas here, but I would not put him at the 3. He's 6'10 225 and one of the best shot blockers in the league. I would much rather have him go 4/5. But that means minutes taken from Darko & Love. If we gave Tyrus 25 minutes a game I think he could come through with a solid 14ppg/7rpg/2apg/3bpg/2spg.

I would need to disagree.

Remember, in the offense the 1-4 is interchangable based on their role. Defensively, if we let him play the 3 he could provide crazy shot blocking with Love at the 4 and Darko at the 5.
