What player would basically commit to a team without the team fully committing to you.

What if you left an interview saying "Hey I'll take this job if you want it" and they respond "OK, well we really like you were just going to talk to another canidate that we like a little more and make sure we can't get them, then we'll get back to you"

I guess it could be plausible if they made it clear "Hey Booz, we love you. You are our number 1 choice at PF over Bosh and Amare and Lee. But our offseason number 1 choice is LeBron. I'm sure you can understand that. We have a pretty big meeting with him tomorrow, and we've gotten signals from his camp that he's really open to playing with you, as I'm sure you've spoken to him about it before. We just need to have our sitdown with him and get his ok, and once we do that, you're our man. Is that cool with you?"

I'm sure Boozer has to understand that the Bulls have to at least interview the other players and see what their options are. It's not like there are teams chasing after Boozer as their #1 option out there. So I'm sure he'd understand the process.

Perhaps the Bulls organization is looked upon far better than most of us thought and players want to play for us.

Is it too early to order my Boozer jersey?
my favorite PF in the league after KG...DRose and Boozer P&R is ecstasy
I think we are going to sign Boozer after we talk to LBJ.
FO should ask LBJ first about what he thinks about Boozer as his Robin.
now we got Batman and Robin - LBJ and Boozer
Spongebob and his sidekick - DRose and Noah

I think everyone understands that the rules are slightly different in 2010. Everyone's talking to everyone.

Why would you infer that?

If you take out Deng and plug in James, who plays SG?

Booz is around the same age as Kirk. He'll be 29 in Nov.

The question is WHAT DOES BOOZER'S CONTRACT LOOK LIKE.

He is willing to sign for what we have left after LBJ and not the full max?

Honestly Boozer is a stud in the playoffs and is better for the playoffs than Amare, Bosh, Lee, or Al Jeff.

If Booz is willing to take what we have left I'd be pumped and then trade Deng , jj, and Taj for a stretch 4 and a SG... I'm thinking Outlaw and Morrow. Deng for Morrow (5/35). Taj for S&T Outlaw (3/15)

Rose/vet. min
Morrow/ vet. min
LBJ/Outlaw
Boozer/Oulaw/LBJ
Noah/Asik

If you can add Boozer and still keep Taj as ur 1st big off the bench, I'd say that's as good if not equal to just having Noah and Bosh alone.

C Noah / Asik
F Boozer / Gibson

That frontcourt gives you everything except for outside shooting.

which i think is paramount from our frontcourt because we are not getting it from Rose. I'd trade Taj for a stretch 4.

With or without Lebron, the one thing that Boozer gives the Bulls, which we haven't had, is a legitimate post player.

Walking away with "only" Boozer and a guy like Morrow would be a dissapointment, especially if Lebron was in NY or NJ or Miami (Noooooo!) and Wade/Bosh in Miami. But the Bulls would definitely be a better team.

The way I think this plays out, though, is:

Bosh/Wade - Miami
Lebron/Boozer - Chicago (pretty please, crossed finger, knock on wood, no jinx!!!)
and Amare / Arenas (trade) in NY.

And that would be some amazing competition.

I do think that, if Bosh and Wade are going to Miami - that Lebron really has no choice but to leave Cleveland if he wants to win.

Yes.

Doug: 1) did your source reiterate his confidence that Lebron will be signing with us, and 2) did he know of what kind of contract we have with Booze?

I always wanted Lee over Boozer, but at this point we have to make a move to make sure we don't get shut out this summer. He's a fine player, and if he can stay healthy, we'll finally have that low post presence we've been missing for so long. I wonder what the contract will be like. Any ideas Doug and Sham?

Sounds like Bulls are using Boozer as leverage to try and get a commitment out of LeBron and/or Wade.

Instead of waiting for the dominoes to fall from the top with LBJ, sort of playing up from the bottom and using Boozer's willingness to sign as the pusher to get things in motion.

On the one hand, I'm really excited by this..

but on the other hand, I'm not sure how much stock I should put into Boozer's word to someone named Paxaon.

If it's true, it says a lot that we can go to LeBron tomorrow and say "Boozer's on board."
