You didn't need to put this in two threads. You also can't quote that much of an article.

I apoogize, thought it was pretty interesting.

Read the article. It says he thought that after the metings happened at the end of last week.... which was what pretty much everybody thought (Wade/Bosh being locks to Miami) at the time. It wasn't until later that the Wade/Bulls stuff started coming out.

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.

Must....not....read too much....into this.

Although I do like the second part of the reason. I'm trying to understand how the mere presence of Alonzo Mourning would force a charity event to be canceled. Like Alonzo shows up to Make-a-Wish foundation events and pulls the plug on everything and forces everyone to go home.

I don't know if that was purposeful - but it is unintentionally hilarious and sad all at the same time.

What's that S&T?

Varejao, Mo Williams, West (To be cut)/Filler

for

Bosh/Calderon

Seems to me the most enticing deal involves toronto getting out of Calderon or Turk's deal. Which means, essentially, that Varejao+Williams or Jamison has to be included to match salaries and keep a decent roster.

Supposedly Mo Williams still had some trade value, so it's possible he could be flipped for more expirings or cap room?

I just posted this in one of the Raptor threads about the S&T to Cleveland....

I'm ready to punch Bosh in the face. This has nothing to do with be being a Bulls fan.

I just feel that Bosh has come off as the single most whiny player in the NBA.

If I understand this correctly....
He wants max money....and not a penny less...(so he wants to be S&T'd)...
He wants to play next to either Bron or Wade....
He wants to go to a big market where he can expand his brand...
He wants to play on a contending team...

It just seems like he wants someone else to do all of the heavy lifting while he cashes in on the glory. I am shocked that Bron and Wade have not yet told Bosh to go f*ck himself.

Bosh could end all of this by taking a 5 year deal with Miami....but he wants his money too much.

Fair, but in all honesty, he has the leverage right now.

He is the best player to put next to a superstar on the market, and he is also the youngest (maybe David Lee is younger, but it's close).

Also, he's a PF who doesn't need to dominate the ball every possession, which makes him fit in better with either.

Lebron/Wade both likely realize that he's the best sidekick available, and he is exploiting that to make sure he gets the max.

I also think he wants to exert some of his will on the negotiations so it doesn't look like he is just a tag along (Remember, he's a centerpiece). Going to Cleveland or Miami makes him look more like a tag-along, going to Chicago shows that he flexed his muscle in the negotiation process.

EDIT: In my opinion, if Wade or Lebron had said Chicago was fine.. We would already have Bosh+1 of them. Unfortunately, everyone is playing the game to see who breaks first.

If Bosh goes to Cleveland, you've got to think Wade and Boozer come here.

That would be an epic rivalry.

you're way over reacting. Bosh is a free agent. We haven't heard anything from him before the season was over. It's free agency= he can talk as much as he wants now.Compare to the circus around Lebron that's been going on for 2 years. Compare to treachery of Boozer when he left Cleveland. Compare to disparaging 'loyalty' comments from Wade

Best place for Bosh is not even Miami, it's Chicago. He'll be playing on the team with the top 5 point and soon to be top 5 center, stacked supporting cast and still under lux tax= flexibility. He'll maximize his strength as a player, win and be considered a top player on the team, that's what players want, right? money and recognition

I think Lee is just above a supporting player. Bosh is a top PF in the league, now that Duncan has declined.
If Bosh had balls, he'd commit to Chicago straight up and know, no matter where Bron and Wade go, he'd have a great shot to come out of the east.

So....I haven't read 90+ pages here, so I apologize if I'm repeating something here:

- Bosh needs a S&T to agree to go to a team
- Toronto isn't too thrilled with anything the Bulls have to offer (other than Noah)

It seems that securing Bosh would go a LONG way in getting the next pin to fall (Wade or Lebron)

Soooo.....what are some 3 team trade options? Let's get creative, who has a need for Deng that has something that Toronto would want? What the heck DOES Toronto want? (realistically!!)

you're misunderstanding how it works, Toronto isn't thrilled with what Chicago, Cleveland, Miami nor Houston have to offer. It makes no difference, they will take trade exception and picks, problem with Cleveland they have no trade exception and they don't have as many picks, hence Toronto may balk at taking contracts back. No downside in Chi, Miami, potential Toronto block if Bosh decides on Cleveland

Yeah...I understand all of that. The only things Toronto has shown interest in are trade exceptions/picks/small contract players.....and possibly teams taking Turkeyglue back.

All I'm saying is Toronto isn't showing interest in what any of Chicago/Miami/NJ/Cleveland realistically have to offer. What about teams outside of those 4? Does getting a 3rd team involved help anywhere? Deng's got a large contract, but he's an 18/8 player...is there another team out there that would be willing to take a shot, give up another draft pick, a player, that might be of more interest to Toronto and give Chicago an edge over the other teams vying for Bosh?

Return to Chicago Bulls
