is it possible for lakers to sign fisher and crittenton and one more big with the minimum

that way we could have

fisher/blake/crittenton
kobe/sasha
artest/luke/ebanks
gasol/odom
bynum/minimum

the problem is the defense on the 2nd unit would be horrible

trying to think outside the box:

Minny just signed two C's - Darko and Pek.

Vuja + 3m cash for Ryan Hollins.

(provided LA is using the rest of the MLE on a Kobe/Ron backup)

Perhaps Vuja's expiring (plus the cash differential of this yrs contracts) gets LA a guy who can backup C and PF in a pinch. Hollins is in for 2.33 this yr, player opt next yr for 2.48 (don't care about because if locked out, no pay, if not then Bynum has a backup).

daddy5, killing me with the shorthand. ;).

I really don't want Wade & LBJ to pair together. When LBJ runs into a playoff beast he can get frustrated and confused, eventually reaching for his white flag. Now he can just hand the ball to Wade for the KLOSE, that's scary as hell.

I always put Vuja on the trade board... that way he seems like a better player than 'Sasha' or 'Vujacic' :) ;)

Amare 5 years 20M per, the NYK are just fools, how could we not do better than they can, that's stupid. Bullrushs' to draw contact and shoots FT's well, that's worth 20M now?

Dude is listed at 6 10", he's closer to 6 8 than he is 6 10. Previous career threatning eye injury, as well as surgically repaired knees.

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to L.A. Lakers and New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. L.A. Lakers and New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

now that knicks got a 4, could not help but think that they'd be looking for a sign and trade for D Lee.

LO / Sasha for Lee / Duhon?

is it even possible?

LO may flourish in an open court ( back home ) and Diantoni has a love of shooters. Hey, he may think of this option as a nice fit for his system. (one can hope he took mushrooms)

Lee would be an instant hit with his hard nose, efficient style of play. And I think Duhon would be serviceable at the point to back up Blake.

I love LO, but he needs to be moved for someone worth his contract.

and why would you think Lee is going to be worth his contract when he'll probably be looking for like 12-15mill/range and on top of that he's going to be a backup here?

I would try to get Bell for around 2 million.

Sign our guys back ( sans Morrison) and be done.

Judging by the summer league roster, I think the Lakers are absolutely done unless they sign a really good guy for the minimum (Bell). But I can't see it.

So I see them signing a center for the minimum (probably Mbenga or someone slightly better) then signing a defensive guard (Strawberry), a bigman (Caracter/Powell or someone slightly better) and the best player out of Gerald Green and Devin Ebanks -- all for minimum deals.

To start the season:
PG - Fisher - Blake
SG - Bryant - Vujacic - Strawberry
C - Bynum - Mbenga
PF - Gasol - Odom - Caracter
SF - Artest - Walton - Ebanks

To end the season (hopefully Blake takes Fish's job and Straw takes Walton's):
PG - Blake - Fisher
SG - Bryant - Strawberry
C - Bynum - Mbenga - Caracter
PF - Gasol - Odom - Ebanks
SF - Artest - Vujacic - Walton

All Hail, Benga is gone, Ebanks is a SF, and Caracter is a PF. Seriously why do so many people want Benga back with the Lakers.

Mbenga is a decent third string center ... that's it ... nothing deep at all.

If the Lakers can upgrade for minimum money so be it. i just don't see a veteran bigman signing here when he knows that he'll be out of the rotation (which is what will happen with Bynum, Gasol, and Odom here already).

So when I say Mbenga, I'm really saying any third string center who is at least as good as Mbenga and who doesn't mind going several nights without any playing time whatsoever.

Kurt Thomas is more than fine. But will he take the minimum and will he be okay getting DNP-CDs?

I don't think so. Mbenga is more than adequate in his current role.

I would like to make a bold prediction based on 30 years knowledge of the NBA:

There is NO FRIGGEN WAY Shaq or Krume Brown are EVER coming back to the Lakers

and to dream of such things is just a complete waste of time...

Thank You... (bows)
