Now the Bulls gave up their mid 1st + money TO CLEAR Kirk's salary. Looking at how much Gay got signed for, Deng actually has positive value. To move Deng for another pick, we take back a bad contract making less (i.e. Garcia). Now we have 3 picks + JJ, Taj to give TOR for a Bosh S&T, which there's no way they pass up on. We sign Bosh, and he gets his 6 years. This forces WADE & LBJ to make their move. Who blinks 1st & runs to CHI? Who goes to NY? Will LBJ stay in CLE? Because there is no way LBJ would team with direct comp. for the league's best when wade already has 1 ring up on him. Bulls would have been in the drivers seat...
Now we have to get Lee/Boozer and pray that LBJ approves and joins us. But a sick feeling I get is we would have known that info by now....
Before FA started, everyone thought Bosh to Miami was a lock.
Bosh went to Miami.
Why do people think management screwed up?
Yes, there was indication Bosh was attached to either Wade or LBJ. what I'm saying is what comes first, the chicken or the egg? My argument here was to focus on Bosh, give him all the attention he was after & lock him up, which forces Wade/LBJ to make their choice. But we head straight to the top...getting "save the best for last" interviews with LBJ, and multiple meetings with Wade...don't know about everyone else, but I didn't hear much on the Bulls-Bosh meeting at all.
All we constantly heard was how bad Bosh wants an S&T, and how it was becoming more difficult to get that done. Now that indication is Bosh will just take the 5 years, TOR might cave for a S&T. It was the Bulls job to take advantage of that situation, by gathering more assets with Deng, to compile the best offer for TOR, &
overwhelm Bosh that HE would be the #1 option in a huge sports market. As of now it seems we were banking on a LBJ/Mike Miller or Lee combo SMH.
LBJ may still come here, I certainly haven't given up on that, but I'm just mad we didn't secure Bosh first, which WE'D ALL AGREE was what we were looking for since forever...a young, star PF.
