No one wants T-Mac, but do the Dubs?

T-Mac's deal with the Bulls have slowly died down. Seems like the guy isn't getting many offers from others teams due to his history of injuries and underachieving in the league. If that's the case, do you guys think there's any chance the Warriors should sign him to the MLE/Veteran's Min? He can be 1/4 of the scoring option among Curry, Lee, and Ellis, he can really dish it out, and be our hero in the 4th quarter when the chance is there. He would be fortunate enough to know that he's still valued if we sign him and gets him motivated.

Let's not even talk about primes. If Cleveland really do sign those 3 and they somehow have some gas left in the tank, I feel like they might be able to compete with Miami. Cleveland has a deeper bench than Miami, and I don't think it's wise to play the Miami 3 40+ mpg each game.

TMac's workout was private - so no one knows except team officials if he still has skills other than shooting the ball.

However, Bulls clearly want TMac to be a reserve & to have no problem with it.

Yet, it was TMac & his people who revealed the workout and TMac turned it into a media circus. This is not what the Bulls wanted. It seems obvious that "Me Mac" is still alive & I dont think the Bulls (and most teams) want any part of that.

If his workout and med exam with the Bulls went well enough that they really did want him as a backup, and it's only the "role" issue that fouled things, then the W's should take a look if they can do it on a short term contract. The reality is, we do not have a starting SF. If he passed the bulls physical then we should be taking a serious look.

That's interesting because while Bron/Wade are fantastic passers and playmakers McGrady/AI are not in any way good passers. They got "**** I'm triple teamed" assists and "**** why'd I drive inside, BAIL OUT PASS TYME!" dimes. Shaq/Bosh are also really different players as well...Shaq demands the ball and Bosh doesn't.

I don't think Shaq/AI/McG would work just because it has two of the biggest volume shooters I've ever seen in my life. THATS a situation where the "only one ball" argument makes sense.

I think you're being very rough on AI and McGrady's passing here. They're both very able passers IMO. They've both been top dogs for most of their careers but have always had high assist numbers (of course partially due to dominating the ball).

They're able passers, but not good playmakers. AI passed cause he was tripled, it was obvious he wanted to shoot, shoot, shoot...same with T-Mac in his Orlando days.

LeBron has a PG mindset and is one of the best passers in the NBA. Wade also has that PG instinct, though not at Bron's level...that wasn't apparent in T-Mac/AI. High assist numbers don't always mean you're a great passer...by that logic Monta is one of the best playmakers in the NBA.

BEST CASE.....he's a usable backup with no future on a team in serious need of a FUTURE....having blown away the one they had. The Knicks and Bulls,so far,have seen NO sign of the original t Mac.
He no longer seems to care,waste of a roster spot.

T-Mac is a big risk, like Yao Ming, but high risk high return and fail.
Teams like him but the real question is T-Mac has to accept the reserve role, like 15 minutes behind Deng or Brewer.
Warriors should take him and off the bench too.
Our main guys are still Monta and Curry.

Actually T-Mac would absolutely demand to be treated like the MVP player in his imagination. Here's an excerpt from ESPN's Marc Stein on why the Bulls are hesitant about signing T-Mac:

Sources close to the process, as they did Monday after McGrady’s workout and sit-down with team officials, continue to describe the prospect of a T-Mac signing as “unlikely” after he spoke at length -- to the media and apparently those officials as well -- of his intent to try to force his way into a prominent role with the Bulls when they were looking for him to show a blanket willingness to accept a limited role.

If the Bulls ultimately do relent and commit to a T-Mac experiment, since they do need another scoring threat on the perimeter, it’s believed that they will insist on McGrady accepting a non-guaranteed deal for next season so they can let him go at any time without financial hesitation if they deem the experiment to be failing.
