Post#1 » by darth_federer » Sun Sep 12, 2010 4:38 pm

This just in: Drabek will start Wednesday in Baltimore.

Drabek's innings this year: 162. Last year: 158.

A good lineup to pitch against. Should be a good one!

Drabek will be in the rotation for the rest of the season, likely making three starts, Anthopoulos says.

NH's quick exit from the playoffs, which kept Drabek's innings on a par with last year's total, helped seal the decision on his promotion.

The Os offense isn't terrible actually, don't chalk him up for a W yet.

Actually the Os have been relatively hot recently.

Cecil really needed the break. He didn't take too long to get exhausted last year too. Romero's the one true horse in this rotation. Nice to have exciting pitching to call up when we need it.

This also confirms how much the organization is fearful of the PCL. If the Jays produce more front-end pitching talent, and remain in the PCL, we might see more of the "Double-A to the big leagues" type promotions.

I think Drabek, barring injury or collapse in performance, will win the #5 spot next season. His innings are in line as he'll finish with about 175 or so this season (give or take), so he should be prepared to handle a big league season in 2011.

Good to have something to look forward to.

Not according to Lott

BTW, Drabek's debut Wednesday will be on Sportsnet, not Sportsnet-1.

Good thing we most likely will not remain in the PCL. Neither side was happy with the 51s affiliation and we'll probably move East for 2011.

Okay, now Lott's hedging

LottOnBaseball
Now I have no idea which network will carry Drabek's debut. Jays' post-game notes say SNET. Sportsnet's website says ONE.
