I'm not really sure why you are shaking your head?

I think Howard said this partly because he wanted to take a jab at LeBron for going to Miami, Orlando's natural rival.

But really I have been saying this since Durant was a rookie that it isn't out of the question for KD to become a better player than LeBron. Of course all the 14 year olds think that it's impossible but if you watch enough ball for long enough you know that guys get better. You could see Durant was special back at Texas.

If Lebron puts up his typical, 28pts 7.5rebs, 7.5dimes, 1.5stls and 1block (obviously monsterous numbers) but if KD improves some a puts up 32pts, 10rebs, 4dimes, 2stls and 2blks is it that big of a stretch to call him the best player in the game?

No Durant isn't better than LeBron today (IMO), but could he be by the end of the season? Possibly, not likely but it's possible.

I shake my head, because it came out the words from Dwight. I remember him saying that Lebron is the best Basketball player ever in the all star game, so why go on the air and pick Durant. He could of explain why Durant is better than Lebron, instead of saying it to hype up the media. But i do agree with you hes just mad cause Lebron went to Mia and now they have a rivaly going on. But i do agree with you that its possible that Durant might be better than Lebron. But for right now its Lerbon.

But let the hates keep on coming, because Durant will bite you!

Reading a different thread about this it looks like Dan Patrick asked Howard who was the best and then he replied Kobe.

Then he asked Howard, if Durant was on the Kobe and LeBron level? Howard asked what level is that and Patrick replied best in the game level.

And Howard said yes. Then he asked who would he rather have on his team LeBron or Durant. And Howard said Durant.

Looks like RealGM misquoted the article. Nice work RealGm.

By the way do you have the link for that Durantula pic? I requested a sig from Netsforce for a Durant sig almost exactly like that but he got waived from the forum before he could complete it.

you know i completely agree because Lebron never led the Cavs to the finals in 07 and Durant got so far in the playoffs last year and oh god the thunders record was leagues better than the Cavs oh and Durant is such a great scorer his career avg is way better then lebron i mean look at it lebron's is 27.8 and Durant is 25.3
okay i can't be sarcastic any more look at there stats compared with equal experience even though lebron came out of high school and was younger.... anyways

yes it would be a stretch and lebron had 8.6 apg last year you think he will get less assist with this group get real and be fair and when have we seen KD get more then 8rpg and 3apg never you are pushing KD stats and shrinking lebron's. lebron is all around and can do everything KD can do better look at they're third years its obvious that lebron is better

I know the dude quotes a guy who didn't even post in this thread.

I guess some guys are just looking to troll.

And I know LeBron had 8.6 dimes I actually think he will have closer to 10 dimes this coming season and closer to only 20ppg. But until that happens I am just going off what he has done in the past.

So chillax dude!

The thing that separates LeBron from KD is that he is so good at sharing the ball and recognising mismatches. He can destroy a team purely through his basketball intelligence. As great as Durant is, he cannot do that, and I think that's why KD can never surpass LBJ in the GOAT (of this generation) discussions. The only thing Durant has on LeBron is TS% (barely) and eFG%.

However, KD is only 21, the future is extremely bright for our star here in OKC.

Not yet but Durant will surpass Lebron as the best player in the NBA within the next 3 years.

I agree that he could become better than Lebron. Dwight didn't even say he's better. He was saying he would rather play with Durant just liek Lebron would rather play with Wade.

LeBron is clearly the better player, even when comparing them at similar stages of their careers. That said, Durant's set of skills can be more useful than LeBron's depending on the situation.

Replace KD with LeBron on the FIBA team and I'm not sure they win it all. KD was a great fit for that team. However, LeBron would very likely be the better fit with Dwight considering what he did for Varejao and Hickson.

Dwight's trollin'. Verbally, he's the next Shaq.

Dwight is just planting the seed for the Magic to one day steal KD from ya'll. Or maybe Dwight is going to bolt Orlando to go play with KD? In any case, which player do you think would pair up better with DH...James or Durant?

As has been said, Dwight didn't say Durant is better than LeBron. He'd be way wrong if he did say that.

I think those two would make great teammates though!

Im sorry, but why do you say that? What I read in the article was this:

Dwight Howard was asked during a radio interview which player he thought was better between Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

"I'm gonna go with Kevin," Howard said.

This cannot be misunderstood, Dwight said he thnks Kevin is better. Whether he meant it or not, or he just said it because he likes Kevin more or would prefer playing with Kevin or he believes Kevin WILL be better one day, those are all guesses, but what he actually said is pretty clear.

Yes he is. Unless LeBron learns how to shoot better and become more humble.
