It's not really the regulars that are bothering Gomez, it's van Gaal's system. He refuses to play anything but his 4-2-3-1, even if he has not a single winger available right now. And Gomez just doesn't work in that system.
Bayern could play a deadly 4-2-2-2 with Klose and Gomez up front and Müller and Kroos behind them. As long as neither Robben nor Ribery aren't fit, that should be their system. But, for some reason, van Gaal plays only a single striker. Even if Gomez gets on the pitch, he's out of position. And it's not like Robbery ever provided any width for the Bayern offense. Both play inverted, so Klose/Gomez won't see any crosses anyway. 2-2-2 at least gives Lahm more room to go forward and get some deep crosses in.
Well, we play them in two weeks. With our luck, the Bayern surge will be in full effect by then...
@PF: Freiburg - Lautern next week. If we win, we're looking at a pretty comfortable situation. If we loose... well, scratch that. No losing allowed
