From what I understand, it really depends on where they get drafted, because regardless of draft position, the players don't get paid until they're officially signed.
From what I've read, the agents pay for all of the players' expenses until their first NBA paycheck comes in. In a case of a lockout, they won't get signed until the lockout is over.
So, for top 3 or top 5 picks, the agents will agree to pay for their expenses for the entire duration of the lockout because they know they'll make that money (and then some) back. For players later in the draft, that guarantee isn't there, so they won't. This means that for non- top picks, it just isn't financially viable to come out.
Also, do to their personalities and past statements, there's a better than average chance that top prospects Harrison Barnes and Kyrie Irving decide to stay an extra year or two regardless of the CBA situation, and there's definitely a good chance that the top international prospects decide to stay out and get paid elsewhere until the CBA is resolved.
Isn't it better to get drafted even w/a possible lockout then go back to school? What if you get injured? What if your stock drops etc..
I'm not positive, but I don't think this is allowed. I'm pretty sure that if a college player remains draft eligible after a certain date (before the draft), they lose their amateur status and are no longer eligible to play college ball.
