Not to mention at the time, Phil Jackson was rumored to be retiring very shortly and Rambis was to take over. A pretty sweet gig for him that he gave up.

I think if I recall, I was hoping for Avery Johnson.

Rambis was a Laker, has ties to the organization, but he was going to be beaten by Byron Scott if not Brian Shaw. People like getting assistant from winning teams, Rambis was an assistant for the Lakers thus was a "coaching prospect" still has done nothing to make me believe he is a decent coach. Coachs can not make their guys play good D, they can only coach effort. If a guy is loafing they get dealt with.

Generating schemes to utilize the team you have is what makes a coach what they are. If a team w/o a known coach is projected as a 10 win team, and the team gets 20 wins, they did well. Competing is the best way to judge a team, if a team looks defeated before the seasons starts, game starts, THERE IS A PROBLEM. If rambis and his top player continue to throw others under the bus and not take credit for things (like Jeff Van Gundy did, seriously that guy looked like he physically abused himself after losses)

Coaches will get tuned out eventually -- Sam Mitchell, Lawrence Frank but at least they at one point got the most out of the pieces.

I thought Rambis was a great hire. All the Lakers' players have always thought he was a great coach and we was always seen at the successor to Phil jackson over Brian Shaw.

I think the main problem though, and why in hindsight Rambis wasn't a great hire for a rebuilding team, is the triangle seems to be better suited for a veteran team with established role players. Here, everyone is still trying to establish themselves in the league which contravenes the cohesiveness required to make the triangle work.

And don't say we don't run the triangle because we do.

thanks, we aren't that bad.

I feel we really have our backs against hte wall because people ridicule Kahn. It can't be good psychologically for the team. It all became better with the trade for Beasly. We really have a lot going for us now. We are set at SF/PF (beaz, love) and with the amount of PGs we have we BETTER we be set there with a future guard. Darko is at the worst serviceable.

Play with the wolves in 2k11 we are dope.

Although it is depressing I find us stating these things over and over as if we're trying to convince ourselves. I jest though I really do believe in this team. I just hope we stay mentally tough.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
