Parcells vs JT : It's ON like Donkey Kong!

Post#1 » by heat4life » Wed May 21, 2008 7:49 pm

It's finally out there. Sparano confirmed today that Jason Taylor will not be attending ANY of the voluntary workouts, ANY of the mini camps or taining camp at all. He didn't say much more than that but it sounds like they are really pissed at JT for STILL not attending any of the next OTA's and mini camp in favor of his new venture and probably responded by saying, "we'll we don't want you here for training camp either then".

Let the drama begin. It si going to be more difficult to trade him now and get something "decent" in return. This might prompt JT to retire as well but it is sounding more and more like he played his last game as Dolphin.

"I know that Jason is not going to be at any OTAs,'' Sparano said of the organized team activities. "I know that Jason will not be at any minicamps. I know that right now Jason is not going to be at training camp.

I can udnerstand Parcells point of view. Yes these are voluntary workouts during a player's time off but the fact is that Parcells was hired to change this franchise from the dirty hole it's been for the past 10 years. Parcells is trying to change the culture in Miami by bringing in hard working players etc and the one player that should've been on his side is doing the exact opposite, everything else BUT football.

Even then, he should've showed up today to the OTA as a sign of good faith but instead chose to go do interviews around the country?

I was ok with JT doing what was best for him but it clear that the Dolphins and what is going on here are NOT his priority. I doubt football is a priority to him right now, period. This makes all the rumors about him demanding a trade more credible.

Bottom line is that both Parcells and JT were trying to see who would break first and now that DWS is over, the Dolphins made the first move. Let's see what happens next in this soap opera in which Jason Taylor is starring. Soap Opera Sundays instead of Sunday Football

Where is BballFreak to tell us that JT's foray into dancing and acting is good for the Dolphins? That it's not a distraction? That it'll make us better? And that JT's still a leader?

JT mentally checked out from the Phins months ago. Let's get some picks and move on.

Chad Johnson better do something to get the focus back on him because this is embarrassing.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Thank God no. If not this would've been an even bigger Soap Opera (if possible).

Jesus H. Christ. The man has every right to use his vacation as HE chooses. What don't you get about that?

That it's not a distraction?

Who's making it a distraction? What has JT come out and said about the Dolphins?

That it'll make us better? And that JT's still a leader?

If we'd had more leaders like him throughout the seasons, we'd have been in a much better spot. The man has missed 3 games in 13 seasons, and they were all in his rookie year!

And how in the hell does lopping off JT from this team make us a better team? Seriously, that's insane.

You do that.

I for one say Trade him. The guy is a class act but he knows that he is acouple year from retirement and we are acouple years from winning. Get something for him while we still can.

Agreed.

The team's locked him out. This is not the way his career with the Dolphins should end. If they don't want him, then they need to move him or let him go. Instead, it is my opinion that they're trying to make him look bad...

I was just watching Sportscenter and they brought on John Clayton, and they said Taylor will request a trade at a press conference later today.

Clayton spoke with Taylor's Agent and he's not 'demanding' a trade, 'but reiterating a trade in the best business sense', he's not sure if he will hold out of training camp, but he wants to move on, and it's the best interest for the dolphins to trade him, but he wants out of Miami and will make it clear today.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."
