I'm not against getting Melo at a certain price, but if it leaves us devoid of good fill guys, and the assets to get a defensive big, it seems short-sighted.
fair point. and i agree with you generally speaking. but a defensive big liekly cant be had until the offseason..
The thing about Melo-Iverson was there were people who wondered how successful that was going to be, but I do remember a lot of folks saying it was that 2-superstar pairing that would get the Nuggets to be legit contenders.
Are we over-reacting to a win streak and overvaluing our current players? maybe. But I find it hard to believe anyone can say with certainty what we have. Let it play out. These guys are very young. Let's see what they have in the next month before we act like they're nothing special.
Some people are acting like a midseason trade for Melo definitely gets us further in the playoffs than our current roster. I just don't buy it, unless we get him sacrificing only one starter. Even then, it's a work in progress. The only reason I see us rushing this is to make Melo happy. The value of that--IMO, debatable.
