Andre Miller
As we already know our PG play is really holding us back. Rubio maybe here next year or maybe not if lockout possibilty is high, in his recent interview he said he needs to tell Barca before season's end wether he staying or going. If I were to bet money I would put them on Rubio staying one more year. Ridnour is pure garbage except his shooting, Flynn is very unstable and is not in Rubio's league as a playmaker. I think a good vet pg that still can play will help our other guys develop their game and help us grow as a team and pass the torch to Rubio when he's here.
I think Andre Miller could be a good candiadate for this role, the guy makes his teammates better and can be the real stabilizing force on this team. B. Roy doesn't like to play him cause it forces him off the ball( What a whiny b*tch!). Ridnour would be ideal pg for Roy as he's really similar to Roy's BFF Steve Blake. I'd give them Flynn or Mem pick to make up the value.
Anybody else agrees with this?

I'm not including Flynn or a mid first on a 34 year-old pg.

then you have Ridnour driving you crazy for the next 2 years and Jonny Flynn not gonna ease out your pain. you must like to watch all these competetive losses.

I just think its silly to trade away assets for a 34 year-old pg so we can eek out a few more wins next season.
Either Rubio comes over and he is awesome or we draft Kyrie Irving and watch one of them develop next season and hopefully be a good team 2 years from now.

Doesn't make sense to make a move for Miller, especially when you start to add assets. We aren't doing anything this year in terms of winning anyways. We can move Luke anytime whether it's tomorrow, in a few weeks, at the deadline, or next year. We all know he's a short term solution until next year when Rubio comes.

You forget that if Irving is as good as you seem to think, the Wolves automatically have no chance at drafting him.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Why are you even talking about a guy who hasn't even declared for the draft? do the wolves have exclusive rights to sign him?
It's not about a few wins next season, it's about guys like Love, Beasley, Wes, Martell developing, winning games, feeling good about themselves, developing that good chemistry that they have, more fans coming to TC to watch them win. This team has plenty of young talent, but they need a real good vet to show them the way, not some scrub named Luke Ridnour.

Ive heard if there's a lockout, the 2011 Draft could possibly be canceled and the prospects have to play another year of college ball, is there any truth to something like this happening? I know that wasn't the case for the 98-99 lockout, just curious if the problem isn't resolved in time, does it happen?

I have a time machine so I know he declares and that we have a chance to draft him

Andre Miller is not worth a mid first by himself
I'm all for getting him if we ship out Ridnour and some other piece if needed, but not at the price you gave

You can't get a good vet pg for a sack of R*dn@ur. Nothing good is free.

Re: Andre Miller
Though I do agree that Miller's a good vet and would be handy helping out our younger guys I think we could get someone in who's got a few more years on the clock left than Miller. He's 34 and won't be too cheap. Ridnour's too inconsistent and hasn't been playing well so far, poor shot selection and just dumb play at times. He's shown that he has the ability but he just doesn't show it enough, the 20 pt 10 game assist game showed what he can do to some teams but I'm afraid that's been about it from him considering the large chunk of minutes he's had. Flynn's rusty but his D is appalling and it has been for a while, I like him, he's a good guy to have in the lockeroom and can get looks for his team-mates and can occasionally knock down a J or two. Then there's Telfair who's actually done a decent job for us, hasn't been consistent enough and can be stupid at times but in the time he's had big minutes he's done a decent job. Gaines needs cutting asap.
We do need to bring in someone but I wouldn't be throwing Flynn in a trade just yet. I'd rather trade Ridnour than Telfair, hopefully we can bring in someone from NYK for one of them two soon. Wouldn't mind Douglas from NYK but he's hardly a vet.

Can we just have a "I want this guy" thread? It seems every half decent scrubs gets their own topic these days.

Well... you don't seem to like what our fans are willing to give up for him, so please tell us what we NEED to give up for this guy we aparently must have

Try to reread my original post, try to read carefully and slowly and you may get your answer.

Your snappy defensive responses to the offers seem to suggest you wish this to be something that should happen or are emotionally invested in Miller. So please, reread my post very slowly and very carefully and tell us all what you think the Wolves would give up to get Miller.

Re: Andre Miller
Andre Miller is an excellent choice of a point guard for most theam if he were to beocme available. I'm sure he's smart enough to learn the triangle and that he can run half court sets really well.
Miller was never the fastest player on the court, nor has he acquired an outside shot. That's a knock against him on the triangle. I also think he's not a bad passing lane defender, but his on ball defense, IMHO, is mediocre at best according to 76ers personal from 2007/2008, albeit that Prichard said literally the opposite of that latter.
If you want a good on the ball defender, I think Aaron Brooks of Houston can be had pretty cheaply. He's not a pure point, but his outside shot is very clean and he can stay in front of his man. He also gives bigger, slower point guards (like Derek Fisher and Andre Miller), _fits_.
Right now Lowry is playing out of his mind, and Houston need a solid 2 string point instead of two 1st stringers. I think they have enough pieces to move around too. What do you guys have that they would want?

Yup, I'll listen if the name is Iguodala or Ellis, but I'm not in the mood to sacrifice our future.

Even forgetting that he's 34, in what way does Miller fit this team? He's basically an older version of Sessions and everyone knows how well that turned out.

I don't understand why we would add any piece we unless you think it will be on the team (or valuable to the team) 2 to 3 years from now.

We shouldn't add anyone over the age of 27, there is no upside whatsoever...34? lol
