Right now, I'd say McGuire is a slightly better player because of his experience. But I also think that McGuire has pretty much hit his ceiling. After a year or so of seasoning, it's a pretty sure bet that Booker will be as good as McGuire, and it's reasonably likely that he'll be better.

So if I had to win a game tomorrow, I'd take McGuire. But if I'm picking a guy to grow with over time, I'd take Booker without hesitation.

What's crazy is that Hoopla got him to shoot .735 in the 2007/08 season. He missed 08/09 due to injury. And last year he shot a not-too-awful .620.

No clue, if he gets traded won't shock me........he's been pouting quite a bit already tonight.

The guy has really revealed himself to be a locker room problem. He's really been their only distraction this year thus far.

DeShawn Stevenson on the other hand looks unbelievably confident.....good to see. When he had confidence he was fun to watch.

One of them also said (McHale I think) he can't for the life of him figure out why teams run the zone defense. It's so soft and easy to break...and it leaves you at a disadvantage for the rebound.

I blame EJ for most of that. Butler, Stevenson, Haywood and Jamison were mentored by EJ. That's where they learned their terrible D and jumpshot oriented offense. I think Flip has been brought in to clean up a big mess, but it's slow going.

I totally see it as a EFJ issue.

People bitch about Flip but Flip is getting results working with the younger players.
People may not like his style or methods, but look at Nick. He is actually growing as a player. We saw zero growth from him before. He would do the same stupid stuff over and over.

Same with McGee. McGee needed a lot of mental work and Flip is working him. He didn't bench him like people though. He was trying to wake him up and get him focused.

I blame a lot of Gil never becoming the player he could have been on EFJ also. Gil put up numbers but he was a high volume ball dominate no offensive structure player. A lot of it is on Gil because he is a drama queen and wants to do it all his way. Gil owned EFJ. EFJ has not control over Gil.

And when you most talented player is like that, thats not good for the young players to see. No wonder they didnt listen to the older AJ when the cool guy Gil was around.


I like this owner, GM, roster combination that anything I have seen in a long long time.

That's a good point. I suppose it was an undeserved shot at the Wizards organization. Haywood was a damn good player in DC.

It is interesting that the vets I hated to see leave: Haywood, Arenas and to some extent Jamison seem to be mediocre at best. While the players I felt don't let the door hit you on the way out: Stevenson and Bulter(from a basketball point of view) seem to be doing well for the Mavs.

Possible patella tendon tear for Caron Butler. No only could it end his season, but it could also really torpedo his value in free agency. Dallas might be able to do with him what we did with Josh Howard - get him back on a one year deal on the cheap.
