nevetsov wrote:I never really thought about it before, and I know it's a bit of a taboo topic, but what about exploring a Carmelo trade? He can rebound like a 4 and score with the best of them. Do we have the combo of young talent+picks+expiring to rival an offer from New York?
NY likely would offer something like Gallo, Chandler, Randolph, along with Curry's expiring and their sole pick. If they can get a pick for Randolph, then it becomes Gallo, Chandler and 2 firsts.
We have 2 firsts already, and a much more desirable expiring - one they could likely forward on and get more young talent for. So it essentially comes down to young prospects.
They have no use for Goran, so we'd have to give them Lopez and probably Childress.
Looking at their lineup, wouldn't a SF and C be more sought after than 2 Combo forwards?
Also, were in a better position to absorb one of their bad contracts (like Harrington).
Couldn't hurt to ask.
Nash, Hill, Carmelo, Frye, Gortat with Goran, Dudley, Pietrus, Harrington could be interesting.

How about Hedo

Nope. Just J-Rich.
I think it's pretty much understood how much he feeds off of Howard.

Now we know he doesn't feed off Nash.

Bleacher Report is generally dreadful, at lest the stories they generate themselves, but I thought I'd post this anyway just for discussion's sake

The two concerning keeping Nash and giving Goran more minutes are spot on. Getting rid of Carter is good but I'd keep Hill. He is too much of a leader plus he's still pretty damn good at his price. I would, however, cut his minutes. The power forward piece fails to recognize the Suns system. Those guys would clog the middle. None of them shoot threes except Jamison, and as the poster already noted, the Suns don't need any more old players. I only see four suggestions. What's the fifth? I get a link to the Suns all-time best five.
