I think the song Hot N Cold was made to describe Hedo's basketball game.

At least for myself, when I say "rebuild around" in a discussion about Duds, Dragic, Frye, I assume we all red it as "rebuild with" - by which I mean they are nice pieces for a roster, not that they are central.
I still think so

Frye, Pietrus, Gortat, Duds, Dragic, all solid players. Good value in their current contracts. But they are assuredly complementary pieces, not stars.

I never really thought about it before, and I know it's a bit of a taboo topic, but what about exploring a Carmelo trade? He can rebound like a 4 and score with the best of them. Do we have the combo of young talent+picks+expiring to rival an offer from New York?

NY likely would offer something like Gallo, Chandler, Randolph, along with Curry's expiring and their sole pick. If they can get a pick for Randolph, then it becomes Gallo, Chandler and 2 firsts.

We have 2 firsts already, and a much more desirable expiring - one they could likely forward on and get more young talent for. So it essentially comes down to young prospects.

They have no use for Goran, so we'd have to give them Lopez and probably Childress.

Looking at their lineup, wouldn't a SF and C be more sought after than 2 Combo forwards?

Also, were in a better position to absorb one of their bad contracts (like Harrington).

Couldn't hurt to ask.

Nash, Hill, Carmelo, Frye, Gortat with Goran, Dudley, Pietrus, Harrington could be interesting.

Carmelo is never signing here, and he's not a guy that can carry a team as a star or Denver would have at least been to the finals. Hell they have one WCF and 6 first-round exits. You want to pay him 18M a year go ahead. He'll be good with Amare' I don't doubt, but not worth the money.

If he doesn't sign, then he'd be a be an expiring just like VC, but at least we wouldn't have to pay him 4m. We'd be jettisoning Childress and Lopez and some picks for another stretch 4. Not the worst thing in the world, however losing Lopez might suck.

At this point, "interesting" is my highest expectation for this season.

Since I agree with your outline of how our offer might > NYK, I entertain the idea of that line-up. And I think, "interesting".

But then I think...

He is great when he is the primary ball handler and has Howard for alley-oops.

How about Hedo

Nope. Just J-Rich.

I think it's pretty much understood how much he feeds off of Howard.

Now we know he doesn't feed off Nash.

Bleacher Report is generally dreadful, at lest the stories they generate themselves, but I thought I'd post this anyway just for discussion's sake

The two concerning keeping Nash and giving Goran more minutes are spot on. Getting rid of Carter is good but I'd keep Hill. He is too much of a leader plus he's still pretty damn good at his price. I would, however, cut his minutes. The power forward piece fails to recognize the Suns system. Those guys would clog the middle. None of them shoot threes except Jamison, and as the poster already noted, the Suns don't need any more old players. I only see four suggestions. What's the fifth? I get a link to the Suns all-time best five.

BR is just generally awful - which is why I apologized as i was posting the link. But the PF thing was not anywhere near as bac as I expected - at least those were players we all talked about getting. How AR helps with rebounding I don;t know
