ATL contends with Nash/JJ/Hill/Horford/Lopez and PHX gets 2 good rebuilding pieces
I believe that, if we ever want to have a chance for something bigger, this proposal wopuld be great, in case it was real.
Of course we are losing one of the best exciting young players in the L, but you have to give something in order to get something.
With Nash, Hill and López we get a really good roster (we have to add Bibby, Crawford, Marvin, Powell, Zaza and Collins) with 10 players that can play and this would be may be the most complete roster in the East in number of pieces. Just Boston could compete with our rotation (I am talking about deepness, not quality, in which we could probably be still a step behind), but this roster could play deep in the POs and have a chance to play the Finals.
In any case, in one and a half years we would be freeing and important amoun of money with Nash. Also Hill and Crawford come off the books this summer.
What I am not so sure now is if we should trade JSmoove or Horford. Al will be a near 20-10 all his career. JSmoove is able, IMO, to have perios in which he can offer more than that, but not regularly.
I think Steve Nash is my favorite player in the NBA...
But trading Al or Smoove for him is not wise. Both of them will be producing at a high level for many years to come - Al may very well be a legit 20/10 and Smoove impacts the game in nearly every aspect - many, like energy and shots altered, that don't show up in the box score. Ideally, you want to bring a talent like Nash INTO that core.
Moreover, you just don't know how long Nash has left and even IF he'll be here beyond 2012 (or if the world will survive
