I guess it depends on how convinced you are in what you're seeing. If you fail to lock up the Beasleys and Loves of the world, you're pretty much doomed to having to find them again in the draft in the future. I think Taylor is willing to write that check, it's just a matter of whether or not the right deal will come along. I know Kahn wants to rob anyone he deals with, but in a case like an Iguodala, he may be faced with coughing up Wes Johnson and more to make it happen. In that case, I have to think it's a lot easier to face fans when you can tell them you just added a player from Team USA. I hate his contract, but I have a feeling that the odds of us putting the screws to someone is pretty unlikely and Philly and MN may have assets that match.
Like I said earlier, doing nothing to me is considerably worse than making a deal that is even and not robbery for us. That's IF we can bring back an absolute starter for the next 3-5 in a deal. If they fail to make a deal, I'd hate to work in their call center calling people to buy tickets when fans realize that we just ate 12M in salary we could have used to make us competitive.
