I agree with that, but the question wasn't whether we should trade Flynn, it's if we trade Flynn, how should we react to our backup position. And I just don't feel confident enough in Harrell to go into next season with him as our backup. A decent veteran, preferably a younger one who could ressurect his career under MM's tutelage, would be preferable. I'd look at guys like Leinart, Alex/Troy Smith, or even someone like a Tyler Thigpen.

Wow. That wasn't my question, Chuck. That's the thread's question.![]()
I agree with the idea that we shouldn't trade Flynn if we don't believe Harrell can step up.

The question of the thread was, if we traded Flynn who do you want as his backup. My answer is Harrell.

Just through next year.

Thanks.
In that case I would probably look to trade at draft time and get a decent pick for him.
I highly doubt Flynn would be interested in signing a deal with us to be a career back up to Rodgers.

I don't believe teams have to, maybe they even can't, sign draft picks until the new CBA is in place so I don't think thats any extra motivation.
