Funny thing is he's a front running Clippers fan. Dude flip-slops between them and Boston like a dime trick. He got married moved out to L.A. and jumped on the bandwagon until Boston made the trade for K.G. he was slobbin hard on the Clippers when they made the playoffs in 2005-2006 season. I don't see how anyone takes him seriously.
People take him seriously because he knows basketball.
He's nothing more than a Pop Culture writer who grew up on the same vintage basketball era most did and is telling stories about his experiences. Namely about he and his Dad yada yada when we were at the Garden blah blah. Mix mentions of Slaughterhouse and how there's a connection with Larry Bird, he's cool.....make mention of Heath Ledger overdosing and how Lebron's Decision parallels it, he's cool. He hasn't proven he knows anymore about the game than any other writer really he's simply more popular than most.
This is the same guy who last year had joke after joke after joke after joke after joke on us passing on Jennings but turn the page this year new story us and Melo..... he co-signs.... he's cool
Fall for anything Stand for nothing
I think you got it all wrong. What you said has no truth in it. Read his book. There is more than Dad yada yada yada in it.
And I find it funny when some people (you seem to be one of those) take positions on writers with the kind of stuff you mentioned. Simmons makes sense. When he wrote about Jennings, he had a point (though I disagreed). When he talks about how LBJ should have come to NY if not stay in Cleveland or Melo should come to NY, he still has a point. We are not talking about a guy who comes up with idiotic reports/predictions or someone who simply talks of his arse trying to convince people how NY is the worst choice for any given athlete.
