"Still, I have a chance to win a championship and make less money, I don’t have a problem with that.”

This quote makes me a happy camper.

Why give the other team anything if we dont have to? Cant we just sign him straight up? I guess Im missing something but Im no guru.

haven't we learned from that certain Robin down in south beach?

I don't think all four of those things are the case, so: NJ makes no sense.
How doesn't it make sense for NJ? Who wouldn't want to acquire a premier player in their prime...
If I'm walsh I wouldn't give Denver anything more than Curry/ Randolph....no need to try to appease their desires when there's a option of us signing melo during the off-season..
Oh and it feels good having pharmcat on ignore!

I think its because if he leaves Denver outright he'd only be allowed to sign with us for around $16 mil per year. Denver has his bird rights so they can offer him much more money (3yrs/65mil extension) so he'd want us to do a sign and trade so he could get more money. Same reason we got amare via sign and trade so he cud get his full max money with phnx's bird rights.

According to one management sourrce, Melo may not lose a dime by passing on extension because all contracts will be rolled back anyway.

It will be interesting to see what he does.
